49ers at Browns(-10.5)

Mike, If you are around in a couple of years, I'll remind you of this exchange.

My bet is Quinn will be a successful starting Qb and DA is backing up somewhere.

If I'm wrong I'm wrong

but I wouldn't make that bet with YOUR money.....

I loved what Phil Simms just said. He told T Smith that he'll learn to love that 1 yard pass that allows your players to do their thing. The very thing that DA cannot do. Instead he'll force balls downfield into coverages that will cost him an NFL caeer.

could ya keep it on subject here without bring Troy Smith (clearly a SUPERIOR QB both in college and the NFL) into it???

The most intelligent post on this thread Prof. DA was more than servicable. He did the kind of job the Browns needed to allow Quinn to learn from the sidelines.
But there is no doubt the BQ is the future. He has all the tools to be a much better pro than DA could ever hope of being.

:roll2:

There is tons of doubt. The guy has barely played.....he could be Ryan Leaf for all we (and you) know.....

I don't know why there is all this hate against DA. Hell DA is only 24, the only QB who had it together at 24 was Toothlessberger and HE had a running game and a defense.....

and he could be the next Tom Brady.

I don't think there is the last of "hate" for DA but I do think that if Quinn is given the chance he will be a better QB for the Browns. I just think that he can make all the throws that DA can make plus I think he has more touch on the ball. I have heard Browns insider's say that DA was very inconsistent in college and I think he has shown some of that inconsistency this year. That is just my opinion because none of us have really seen him in an NFL game.

I would like to keep both of them but I don't think that we should give DA a big-time offer when we have other needs on this team for next year.

Fat chance, but even at that the correlation is incorrect. Tom Brady was a 6th round pick.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying DA should get 5 years and 100 million or whatever.

but I AM saying that without DA this team is 3 and 13 at best. DA should be going into camp next year as the starter (unless someone matches an offer for him) and if he has a good camp, which he might, if the light has truly come on for him he'll be a no doubt starter next year, then you watch to see what he does during the year. We won't KNOW until at the very least the beginning of next year if DA is still with the team.

That and I still think Quinn was very overrated in college. I think the Browns could have been able to get him in the 2nd round without sacrificing their 1st rounder this year for him.

TRON made it to his first NFL game today in Cleveland. A few things I learned today...

1. 6.50 beers is bullshit.
2. DA sucks ass.
3. The Browns have great fans.
4. Tapping your foot to the next stall in the men's room is NOT the universal sign for "Go Browns".

If you're the type of person that wants to get rid of either QB after this season, then I'm glad you're not in charge of the Browns organization. They are in a good position to go into next year with two decent young QBs with very little salary impact. They should take advantage of that. Hiring Rob Chudzinski was easily the best move the Browns have made in the last year, and they should let these two young QBs grow in his offense and lock up the one that demonstrates the most promise. They have time to make this decision, and they should use it.

Shit, I'd argue that it may be the best decision they've made since reentering the league...possibly behind firing Butch Davis.
