Colorado receiver, Tyler McCulloch secured 9 passes for 143 yards and a score Saturday, coming up big time in an early rivalry game played a mile above sea level.
The Rocky Mountain Showdown was a mix of greatness and sloppiness for the Colorado Buffaloes. In a weekend where the Buffs secured a couple of recruits to scholarships, they were able to win against in state rival Colorado State 56-32.
This game featured a record breaking performance in passing yardage, and the Sophomore threw for 6 TD's. GREAT right?? Unfortunately, Wood also threw 6 interceptions. A record breaking performance that somehow left us more questions than answers as to how he will play the rest of the year.
The running game? Outside of a couple of bright plays, it left a little to be desired.
And the defense that played so well against Nebraska? Well, they were torched through the air throughout the game for 369 yards and 3 TD's. They also dropped what seemed to be a dozen sure interceptions my 9 year old could make.
All of this disaster will quickly be forgotten as the Colorado Buffaloes are 2-0. Better yet, the Buffs are 2-0 with wins against Nebraska and Colorado State. It was a win this week by 24 points. Where Colorado led in every statistical category with the exception of INT's. 688 total yards. 5-5 in the red zone.
Are there still questions? Are the fans in Boulder cautiously optimistic? You betcha. But for now, Colorado is 2-0, heading into their conference opener against Oregon State with a little bit of swagger.
