To do otherwise would put into question their foundational belief in their purity and superiority. That is literally the core institutional DNA of the place. At Ped State, it centered around one individual, so there is a chance that the place can become somewhat normal as the "Paterno People" increasingly die off. At tsun, the object of cult deification is the school itself, so there's very little chance that they can de-ass their heads. These individuals involved all get to decide their own future.

See: Stallions, ConnorscUM firing them would basically be them admitting wrongdoing occurred. It's the easy copout in the world "They are stepping down on their own accord to pursue other opportunities!" nothing to see here!

Michigan AD out after disgraceful tenure comes to an end
For Ohio State fans, this is some good news.scarletandgame.com
I’m not buying the part in the article that I’ve bolded. Cheating is in their nature. With Manuel gone, the Buckeyes will likely maintain supremacy in the best rivalry in sports over TTUN. Kyle Whittingham is a stop-gap coach who won't be there for the long-term. Ohio State is too good, and their culture is too strong for them to lose too many games to TTUN.
The Buckeyes are happy with what they have been able to do with their athletics. With Manuel ousted, they no longer have to worry about cheating being rampant throughout the athletic department. That's especially true in the football program. The Buckeyes have to be pleased with that.
This issue for TTUN is one that will continue to follow them until Manuel actually is gone at the end of 2026. He gave TTUN a lot of success on the playing field because he was willing to overlook the rules. That issue is something that Michigan looks like they want to fix finally.
Ohio State, on the other hand, will continue to do things above board. Ross Bjork might have some issues, but at least he's ethical.
