He HAD to know what he was getting into, unless he's just a gigantic rube.

I'd assume he took the job purely for a nice extra paycheck to coast into retirement with along with getting all his buddies a major program job along the way.

Yeah, we've said it before. He was hired because he's always been perceived as a guy with good character that would give them the appearance of cleaning things up in Ann Arbor ( is a whore). Wins and losses weren't a priority. He's doing that and barring a major scandal or finishing 0-12, he's safe for another year or two. He can stack the cash and ride off into the sunset after that.

They will pivot quickly to claiming that they are going to spend huge money on some top transfer QB in the offseason. Problem is, what legit upper end QB is actually going to want to go there to play in that offense?

What they will do is work themselves up on the idea that they are the '85 Bears but for a QB. So then any just average QB is so much better than what they had, their superior run game, defense etec etc etc will win it all.

I mean, we have seen this delusion loop with them how many times?
