2025 tOSU Offense Discussion

And not have 4 TEs on the field? Have you gone mad??

“No, the Maryland I is too audacious. A QB and 2 HBs? Who’s going to block???”

I scrubbed through some early ‘23 games because I remembered OSU trying something similar to these heavy formations and then scrapping it pretty quickly because they didn’t have the. locking at TE to make it work. At first they used Traynum at FB, and then Curry.

Not sure what the fascination with it is, other than giving heavy run looks and then eventually PA over the top in big games. Feels like they’re dedicating a lot of reps to it for just that.

26 carries 99 rush yards as a team.

I’d be really curious to see some All 22 to better understand this. West had some nice runs and Jackson did at times but when it’s not effective it LOOKS really bad.

I don’t know - would be curious to see success rates out of specific formations etc.

Said this out loud in my living room. Think certain run plays aren't working at all

They just need to keep throwing the ball, in the end who cares if you can't run if other teams can't stop you from throwing? It's beyond dumb to keep trying to prove some point that's never gonna be proven this year

I am officially concerned about the run game. Credit Wisconsin's D, but I would've figured with how well the pass game was working it would open up the run game. 7 games down and it looks just as clunky as game 1

They can get better, especially as Bo gets healthy and West gets more carries, but it won’t ever be a strength.

Good thing is, Sayin is very consistent in dumping the ball off or hitting short hitches that help substitute for the run game. I’d expect more of a Wisconsin gameplan if they played a defense of Texas’ caliber again.

Tegra is an interesting case. He just hasn't improved as much as one would expect after 1.5 years as a starter.
Before the injuries hit last season, he was in front of Siereveld, Hinzman, and Montgomery - all of whom ended the year better than him.
Now, apparently, we have a similar situation with Padilla.
It seems like they should swap their playing times (Padilla starts / Tegra rotates).

I think what's happening with Tegra happens with a bunch of OL who are used to being the biggest and strongest player their entire lives. He's facing the best DL every week, and regressing to his HS days of just using brute force to try and win matchups and it's not working. Because the DL in college have actual technique along with their strength.
