2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

Preferably, they would suspend the program until all matters can be brought to light. You already have three seasons, three Big Ten Championships, and a Natty that appear to be held in the balance. Why allow them another season to possibly diminish the accomplishments of teams supposedly playing by the rules?

Still enjoying warm beer and crumpets. Home on Wednesday.

In the last thread, there was a lot of talk about what Michigan players did or didn't know. I believe I have posted this before, but I have some insight on that since I have a connection to a former player up there.
The player said that, to his knowledge, most of the team was unaware of the depth and breadth of the Stalions operation. They thought it was suspicious that, more often than not, they were in a nearly perfect call for what the opponent was doing, but they did not realize exactly why. They believed that their staff was really good at stealing signs, and really good at making on-the-fly adjustments.
He said once the details of the operation were revealed, they were surprised that Stalions had gone as far as he did, but they were not necessarily shocked because they knew that something shady had to be happening. Take that for it's worth, but it comes from someone that was within the program during all of this.

I think the mass of players were just told that Stalions was some genius michigan man who could decode signs in the moment. I would guess that a few were let in on exactly what was going on: Spin Pass and certainly Corum since Corum was probably funding the damned spy operation. The counter argumen is that if players didn't know and would have coughed up the company line, why would Partridge order them not to cooperate and answer questions?

Unfortunately it benefited the players previous and will mean he players today will pay the price

Anyone who's willingly signed up to play there the last couple of years should know what the program has hanging over its head, so nobody should feel bad for them at all.

Do we even need a reason to not feel bad for kids who chose to go to scUM?

No.

The "BUT THINK OF THE KIDS!" excuse in this situation is really BS in the current time though, when kids can just pick up and transfer whenever they want pretty much. it's not like they'll be stuck at scUM or lose years of eligibility.

As you state, the Partridge incidence leads me to believe that most players knew what was going on. People talk.

At the very beginning of the investigation (Fall 2023), there was an interview with Hutchinson which made it clear that he knew.

Partridge telling players to not talk just means he didn't want any investigators getting help connecting dots. It doesn't mean those players knew anything. They might not have even known what they knew.
It was reported that Partridge pressured players to be "untruthful" to investigators. Implies that they had some "truth" to tell.
