2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

Yup, OSU faced literally the only teams in the CFP who could beat them, and none could. I shudder to think of what this offense does to a team like boise st, Clemson or SMU
Boise would have been fun. JTT and Jack containing Jeanty on the edge. Caleb doing the full Jack Tatum thing. Jeanty would barely crack 50. That would have been an epic fisting of the little sisters.

I don’t know, he would need 50 carries to crack 50 helmets, and I don’t think he’d get that many.

I can almost abide the 13-10 stuff. They have bragging rights. And that's fine. But to call our title "illegitimate" while they're under investigation for the worst on the field cheating scandal in the history of the sport is just classic DFBIA. Like, take your bragging rights, but shut up about everything else because it's all fake.

I get it that the NFL and college football are different, but the Super Bowl champion is never undefeated. I know the last one was the Dolphins in about 1971. Did any ever go undefeated before them? I'll guess "no". So how many times does a team beat the team that won the Super Bowl, and then people say that that Super Bowl win is illegitimate? For instance, let's say that the Ravens win the Super Bowl this year. Will Browns fans say that it's illegitimate? Afterall, the Browns DID beat the Ravens. It's so lame to use that as an excuse for saying it's illegitimate.

Or, the part about not winning the conference. Has a wildcard team ever won a Super Bowl? Has a wildcard team ever won the World Series? Has an at-large team ever won the NCAA championship?

What year did *ichigan try to win a basketball championship? About 2015-ish? 2010? I'm pretty sure they didn't win the Big Ten championship - neither the regular season championship nor the Big Ten tournament.

Dear *ichigan fans: Your arguments are bad. Don't be lame.

The NY Giants is the perfect example of what you are talking about. Gets beat by the Patriots and then they meet again in the SB. The Patriots are undefeated and then proceed to lose to a Giants team that was 10-6 in the regular season.

Exactly. I was pretty sure that the (5) means they were the 5-seed. But I looked it up just to be sure. They did not win their division with a 10-6 record. The Cowboys did, with a 13-3 record.
So... using this as an example, do *ichigan fans say that the Giants' Super Bowl win that year was illegitimate?
1. They never won their division.
2. They didn't beat the Vikings, who only finished with 8 wins.

I'm guessing that *ichigan fans would be happy to say that it was not legitimate, since the Giants took away one of their hero's Super Bowl wins.

I was living in NYC when this game happened. I am not a Giants fan, but it was fun and going into work the next morning was NOT.

Other than the 1972 Dolphins, no other team has finished undefeated, untied in the NFL going all the way back to 1920.

It's going to be very very hard to go undefeated in college football now. You have to navigate 12 regular season games, a conference title game and then 3 playoff games against other top 10 caliber teams. The amount of 2 loss champions going forward will be greater than the amount of undefeated champions.

Without the loss to Michigan, I'm not sure OSU goes into the playoffs with the fire they needed to win the National Championship. They seemed like a different team in the playoffs than they were during the regular season.
I don’t think it was the loss that spurred it. Rather it was the changes that were forced on the offense.

Finally the staff stopped calling stretch, started getting downhill in the run game, started throwing the ball more, and started to throw on early downs.

We needed the wake up call on offense. It shouldn’t take a loss to make that happen but that’s normally the case it seems
