2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

I think that’s way you should view the game or you’ll be disappointed if it’s not.

But I do not expect this game to be close.

Bucks 35-Miami 17
Miami will not score 17 points. That is on the Defense. If they score on special teams or defensively is possible but not their Offense vs our Defense.

That's the book on him for sure but you can't make him uncomfortable if they can run it.

Stop the run and Beck is an after thought. Let him have play action and a clean pocket, he can absolutely hurt you.
This kind of reminds me of OSU before the Game game. There were 3 clear offensive weapons that OSU had to stop(QB, RB and WR). Not only does OSU need to throw Beck off, but they need to early and often pressure Toney and throw him off of his routes. If OSU can get up early, force Beck to beat you and it will neutralize Fletcher.
Also, OsU is in no way aTm with their rush defense:
Tex Am - 38th (127 YPG)
Ohio State - 6th (84 YPG)

In terms of defensive efficiency against the run, OSU 5th, TAMU 15th so yeah, big difference.

Nothing changes in my mind, you go get 28-35 points on your 10-12 possessions, take away time so they get 8-10 possessions and the majority of those playing from behind and you'll win. It's simple, not easy.

Miami needs things to happen (turnovers, sack, penalties, short fields from ST, busted coverages) OSU just needs to execute.

Their rush defense was worse than the numbers indicate.

They gave up over 200 yards rushing FOUR times over the season and almost did so again vs Miami. Texas AM is the definition of a team feasting on bad teams.

OSU gave up over 100 only 3 times for perspective with one of those 3 games being exactly 100 yards (which included two runs totally over 50 yards).

OSU was consistently the same defense every week giving up roughly 60-90 yards and I’d venture to guess it’ll be the same for this game too.

I think the post 1st round win has made the Miami fan base go full retard. My Miami buddy hasn’t stopped talking since their game ended. He’s so confident that Miami will win and any and all logic has been thrown out of the window for him and their fanbase as a whole. Many are even saying that the ACC is the best conference now. I can just laugh, December 31st can’t come soon enough

Before the A&M game, Fletcher had 141 carries for 685 yards on the season.

Previous 2 games

Vs Pitt 10 carries 30 yards
Vs Va Tech 6 carries 19 yards

His 3 100 yard games of the regular season came against South Florida (G5), Florida (76th in Rushing YPG allowed) and Stanford

I don't get this thinking that he's been some all world back this year. He had a great game against A&M but that seems to be a outlier rather than the rule for him.

You're shitting me :slappy: what's the great reasoning behind that line of thinking?

Fletcher feasted on bad defenses like aTm feasted on bad teams. Either team that won would have this same false bravado. Fletcher is a decent RB, but this was his best game all season, from a defense that is known for giving up big plays. He’s going to quickly be reminded that OSU isn’t aTm, USF, or UF

Overconfidence from a game that neither team wanted to win last Saturday.
