2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

Which line do you think OSU clearly has an advantage?
Our DL vs their OL isn’t a great matchup.

Their DL vs our OL is more interesting than people think. Indiana nearly doubled our yearly sacks in one game. Big reason for that is what IU does up front. Miami doesn’t stunt like IU they prefer to come straight at you and IMO that’s a good thing.

Defensive for certain against their offensive line.

Ohio State's offensive line against scUM south's line will be a wash.

But it's not about that. ESPN is a biased source. They have a financial incentive to pimp the SEC and the ACC against everyone. Using them is akin to using Barstool as an authoritative source. Everything they say should be taken with the understanding that they are absolutely going to look after their investments first and foremost.

They have a projected top 10 draft pick and a projected second rounder on their DL. I don’t see us with a clear advantage there.

I don’t see us with an advantage at either line, although it’s close.

We absolutely have a large advantage at most other positions.
Mel Kiper thought Shadeur was a top 10 guy too. Again, the bias.

Our DL isn’t facing their DL.

Our OL has given up less sacks than Miami. But the Miami defense has more sacks than ours. Overall it’s a good matchup but to say we don’t have an advantage at either LOS isn’t really accurate.

Luckily I don’t see Miami with an advantage in any of the other matchups but they certainly size up with us at the LOS.

Are they so good at the LOS that it’ll change the game? absolutely not.

Boils down to two things.

1. No turnovers and play a clean game (always #1).
2. Protect Julian.

If we keep Julian relatively protected and don’t turn the ball over I don’t see how this game is closer than 14 points.

Miami's D is legit for sure. With that said, A&M's whole offense revolves around Marcel Reed. Once they bottled him up, it made easier pickings.

OSU has to get the ball out quick to their receivers, to open up the run. Klare and Innis may have a good game early, and Smith and Tate will eat in the second half.

Of course, I don't know shit, but OSU's offense has so many ways to kill a D.

Patricia will fuck around with Beck. Though OSU's D doesn't create turnovers, what they do well is play smart and confuse the opposing offense. I suspect, Patricia will have some kind of answer to the slot issues.

I mean, isn’t it possible that they saw how effective it was and they just…do it too?

It feel like it would be stupid as hell to not prep for that.
