*2024 tCun Shenanigans, Arguments, Cobras, Feckless Marmots, Fake Pandas, Dirty Cheaters

Throwing huge amount of money at kids regardless of culture fit has worked out so well for teams like A&M, right? And we all know super rich people made their money throwing it away on pet projects or on investments that provided little to no return. Just a very smart model they are using.

:slappy:

I’m sure that given their culture up there, fit isn’t much of a consideration.

This is the most fascinating side of NIL.

All it takes is some billionaire who decides a football team is more important than filling an art museum or financing a political candidate and the sky is the limit.

Phil Knight on steroids. Imagine Elon Musk wants Penn to be Champs. 50 million is nothing.

The potential is unlike anything in professional sports.

I may have lived too long...

Update, direct quoting and paraphrasing from my source for transparency's sake. (I don't love things being so cryptic) It's CMU. "Escalatory language." Sounds like 30 days to sweat it out. Someone jumped the shark.

One more note before we head to the theater for the day-
Enforcement staff was pretty upfront throughout discussions that an extension was unlikely to be granted. However, UM raised an issue whose significance to their reply was "marginal," but not zero, so it was granted. Enforcement has gone above and beyond to run this thing 100% by the book as to curtail any appeals down the road, which is why it appears this went the way it went.
Chippewas coming in on our side of this one.

Almost 100% sure this specific drip came from... another involved party.
UM is still fighting to protect the lid. But things are starting to pop.

There is growing frustration in many corners of legacy media over the stranglehold. They might think what they think, but they have to know what they know. It's coming.

While a negotiated resolution of agreed-upon facts and sanctions was possible, UM has elected to take this to a full hearing before the committee on infractions. In this case, sanctions are handed down. Not negotiated.

Bolded makes sense. Ono is absolutely going to die on this sword. I've said it before; he's terribly emotionally damaged and will never do anything that alienates him from the foosball coaches and players. He's the nerdy Asian cello playing kid who was really good at science, and now he's the "adult" who's desperate to win the affection of the guys who would have bullied him in high school.
