Re: Jim McElwain, the head football coach at Central Michigan, agreed to a five-year contract extension in September 2022 that will keep him at the university through the 2026 season. McElwain's base pay will increase each year, from $1,005,120 in 2023 to $1,079,120 in 2026. He will also receive a $150,000 retention bonus on February 15 of each of the last four years of the contract.

Just sayin': Good question, he would be getting over $1.1M the next 2 years. He's just 62 years old and football coaches at that age don't usually retire and/or leave a program unless there are some issues/problems at the school or a better job elsewhere.
