I know you say this in jest, but I honestly see some form of this from him and other NIL collectives. Not to pay back, but to not pay in full. And probably not even have anything in writing similar to the UNLV QB situation. Even though kids are getting now, let’s not fool ourselves into thinking theyre getting paid anywhere close to their worth. And these adults know this, and can throw whatever number they want in the air, fans will believe it. And the kid will see a fraction of it if they don’t play up to the school or boosters standards(depending on the situation). Portnoy can say he’s going to pay $10mil and it’s nothing more than clickbait. Not only will he not pay all of the money if the kid doesn’t pan out, I can bet you that he will publicly denigrate the kid all over his social media platform as well. I can picture it: Barstool Presidente, Portnoy says former 5star is a bum and isn’t worthy to wear the Maize and Blue. And he’ll justify it by saying he paid the kid(partially) and he can say whatever he wants about him
