You think the players knew Moore isn't actually under a contract? Gonna guess no chance with how they've operated through all of this. Now they know though. That's fun knowing the head coach can just be launched into the sun at any moment.
Can be? Seems to me that was the plan all along. I'd be fuckin furious if i were a frosh. Committed to a coach that the school planned to sacrifice at the ncaa alter to save a NC I don't get a ring for lmao

Exactly, Moore was the only useful idiot who was willing to stick behind with the sinking ship, they roped him in to avoid total roster implosion during the offseason.

So they offered the job to a guy who they knew was in the center of the cheating scandal with the sole intention of offering him up as the sacrificial lamb to appease the NCAA......and the NCAA told them to go pound sand. It's like my 9 yo telling me he won't eat his vegetables at dinner to make up for not cleaning up his room like he was told.

They are trying to talk themselves up that this walk-on is actually going to come in and make noise

Guy was buried on the depth chart last year, he's only risen this offseason because Orji and Tuttle just suck that bad. It's basically "Well this guy hasn't thrown a boatload of INTs in practice, might as well give him a shot". He's also been there 4 years, if he really had some good potential, now with the transfer portal some other program woulda seen it and swooped him up.

That's really their only chance, but Ewers will end up slicing them up like warm butter. I'm glad it's in the AA though so their fans can see it all in person.

Then we get to see what should be a substantial hammer dropped on them and hear all their bitch fans whine and say "we know we won those games". Aka the exact same fans that found tattoos for trophies deplorable despite providing no competitive advantage, and basically paraded for that penalty. It will be a lovely sight to see. Wolverine tears are better than any cocktail I've ever had.
There was a competitive advantage--or more accurately avoidance of a competitive disadvantage--to Tressel lying to cover up what was going on. His star players would have been suspended for 4-5 games had he forwarded the emails to Gene Smith and let the university handle things. Now, that's nowhere near the rigging of the on-field product that Harbaugh was involved in, but Ohio State definitely gained something on the field by keeping those players eligible.
