I just thought of a new idea, since the SEC is just so good:

Cut this playoff down to 8 teams. None of them are SEC teams.
Top 4 SEC teams go into the NFL playoffs, playing against the top 2 teams from each conference, no more bye games, those teams have to earn it against the elite SEC.
SEC team wins the Super Bowl every year.

That depends. Would Bama's resume be bolstered by absolutely bullshit wins because of horrific refs like Miami's is?
