Well, not that I was wrong, but I might not have been right.
Carlos Hyde, Braxton Miller, and Boom Herron did it in 2011 against Indiana.
It says this was the first time since 1989 that Ohio State did that. My memory was from a bowl game in the early 90's, so that must not have been right.

Here's another time, also against Indiana. 1956, so I don't remember it. (I wouldn't be born until 20 years later.)
(Scroll down to 1956.)

I should've remembered 2011. Worth pointing out, though, that it was two RBs and a QB who would've made a helluva RB.

I read something yesterday suggesting that we could have two 100-yd rushers Saturday. I think it's more than possible that we could have three. Henderson feels like he has something to prove, Miyan gets 100 with enough touches, and Day has said that Chip will get meaningful minutes and he's capable of going 60-80 on one carry. Have there ever been three 100's in a game? USC back under Carroll, maybe?
I think we will lean more heavy on the run than in past years. Two 100 yard rushers would not surprise me at all. But with the WR group we have and needing to sort out the QB battle, my guess is it will be like 60/40 or 55/45 run imo unless the QBs are struggling or the OL can't pass protect.

Raymont Harris went crazy for 235 yards in that bowl game against BYU. No one else had 100 though

INDIANA’S BLITZES WILL PROVIDE FIRST TEST FOR OHIO STATE OFFENSIVE LINE

Even if Indiana finished last in the Big Ten in total defense a year ago, going against the Hoosiers will still present an element of throwing Ohio State’s new-look offensive line into the fire.

The Hoosiers have been known to utilize creative blitz packages against the Buckeyes in an effort to pressure the quarterback, even if it hasn’t ultimately stopped Ohio State from winning the last 28 meetings between the two sides.

“Indiana, they’re known to throw a couple different (defensive) fronts at you,” left guard Donovan Jackson said. “They can go three, four, five (up front). They may even throw six on there. It’s our job to pick it up. That’s when it comes down to practice and film.”

What it presents is an opportunity for Ohio State’s offensive line to build chemistry early in the season. A lot of communication, coordination and cohesion is required to pick up creative blitzes and stunts in pass protection, and those are the things the front five are trying to build quickly this year.

“Three new guys on the line, it doesn’t really matter,” Jackson said. “We’ve got to be able to be on the same page and have five minds working as one and pick up what we see in front of us.”

I'll say this much, I get a feeling all season this offense is gonna be driving me nuts. Way too much looking out of kilter and I just saw 0 wrinkles out of it.

Now fair enough we probably shouldn't expect 400 yards or a litter of TD passes from a young and inexperienced QB on the road just yet. But what about some wrinkle plays like sending more receivers in motion, running jet or sweep plays, or just doing something to keep the opponent off balance?

Day is looking bland out there with how this thing is running, and I just get a feeling we got a Mark Helfrich kind of guy on our hands here.

I believe in keeping a glass half full outlook, but I think we're headed for a 9-3 or 8-4 type of season here.

Mark Helfrich couldn't recruit worth a shit. Day is indisputably better in that regard. I can't disagree with the rest tho. Uninspiring to say the least

I’m reminded of the old saw “if you’ve got two, you don’t have one” at QB.

I’m also marveling at a kid’s ability to be a so-so right tackle at SDSU then a year later be the starting left tackle at Ohio State. That’s either the biggest one year improvement in the history of improvement or…..

My guess for a record this year: 9-3 regular season with another loss in The Game.

Hope to Woody I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure Day is who I think he is.

Are your two families feuding? Not sure I've ever seen you be such a debbie. Yes it sucks losing to them 2x, but the staff didn't go full blackface iron man.

Pessimistic Patrick has entered the chat.

Just so I am clear, I was way out of bounds to be concerned about the QB and OL?

Right?

I think will be fine at QB. Definitely share your concerns with the Oline.
I think he’ll be fine at some point but when? Two cupcakes then the meat of a tricky hard schedule await. Not sure how fast he’s going to get there behind that OL.

I know people hate hearing anything that isn’t positive but this is why I have been saying that more than 2 losses is a good bet at even money.

I don’t think we will know until ND about Kyle. Probably the same with the Oline.

Wish I would have seen your original post. 9-3 was actually a best case scenario in my book.

I’ll go ahead and call my shots at this point; ND, Penn State and Tsun with a very strong chance of the Purdue and or Wisconsin trips biting us.

More people start to wonder if after 5 years, things are better or worse than Day found them.
