Fellas, this Defense is outstanding! And I think this is the most legit defense OSU has had since the Jeff Hafley/2019 year that everyone was clamoring for. I know that nothing matters until November 25, but this defense is looking stellar and is what we all wanted from Knowles. Limit big plays and force the offense to make mistakes and feel uncomfortable. Keep the offense scoring 3 instead of 6(if they score at all)

They fly around there's no doubt about that. The occasional missed tackle and playing themselves out of the play are the only things I have seen outside of zone responsibilities that this team does wrong. I love the motor they all play with so any play is a chance to make a big play. JT and JackSaw meeting at the QB is a think of beauty/horror depending on which side you are on!

The announcers mentioned that Knowles wasn't thrilled to have to play Mathews and Hartford so much, but was pleased with how they play. Shit, I'm pumped about it. Now we have two more guys that know they can play at this level and they're the furthest from a concern if we need them to come in. These two are going to be absolute menaces moving forward. Love it.

It's very hard to criticize the defense at this point with how well they've played, but I don't think zone is going to be the answer against Michigan. I think JJ struggles much more against man coverage than zone but, more importantly, I think it gives them too much room to run.

We're very good in the redzone but we give up good chunks prior to that. Those chunks are fine against Rutgers or MSU but you can't give those lanes against Corum or Edwards or you'll pay for it.

The way our secondary has been, I'd play man with Sonny in the box and make JJ beat you.

Agreed. We have the guys to play man and load the box most plays. Last year we didn't, this year we do.

Im assuming first in conference for a lot of those "2nd" categories is the school that knew exactly what play the offense was running and made a last second adjustment?
