Some interesting info in here, particularly related to the alleged recruiting violations during covid:

On June 23, 2021, a high school placekicker from Hartland, Mich., named Nathan Dibert used Twitter to publicly thank Michigan coaches Bradford Banta and J.B. Brown for working him out in Ann Arbor.

But Banta and Brown weren’t coaches. They were analysts. They were not allowed to work Dibert out.

Michigan never even offered Dibert a scholarship. He signed with LSU. But before he did, he inadvertently provided the end of the ball of yarn that the NCAA would start to unspool. NCAA investigators and Michigan compliance officers needed to figure out how frequently the team had violated this particular rule. That meant going back and figuring out which recruits had visited the program and what had happened on their visits.

During the course of that probe, a person with knowledge of it told SI, investigators learned that at least two recruits who took official visits had also taken unofficial visits during a time when the NCAA prohibited any in-person contact between coaches and recruits due to COVID-19. From March 2020 until the end of May ’21, recruits were allowed to take self-guided campus tours but were not allowed to meet with coaches or enter athletic department buildings.

Getting back to Weiss hacking students' email accounts, the guy's a football coach. He's not a computer expert. I wouldn't know the first thing about hacking into the email accounts on secure university servers. So, here's my line of thought. Either someone in the program or some outside booster purchased some sophisticated software and paid for him to learn how to use it. This was done with the aim of hacking into other university's systems to get coaches' emails, practice video etc, which he did.

Now, he has this software sitting on his computer and the newfound skill to use it, and being a perv, he says to himself why don't I use it to creep on some college girls. UM had just recovered from a major security breach of their system and probably had installed some state of the art shit. That state of the art shit catches him hacking into a bunch of umich.edu email addresses, and the feds hit the fan and find all the football related hacks and possibly gambling info on his computer.

One question is how and when US Integrity get involved. Did the B1G already have them snooping around after the Iowa gambling revelations? Did the FBI notify UMPD who spilled the beans, knowing that their ass is on the line if they try to cover it up. Did the FBI go directly to the NCAA and/or B1G. One thing is certain, and that's that had they only gone to Ono's office, he would have done everything possible to bury it,, so I don't think that's what happened.

Lotta in, lotta outs to this case, Man. Fortunately, I'm keeping my mind limber with a strict Gin & Vermouth regimen.
