That Harbaugh is even at this press conference tells me that Michigan is just in "wait and see" mode. They aren't going to do anything until the B1G/NCAA forces their hand.
Yep. So the Big Ten is the ones that’ll need to step up.

I always thought this though. I thought there’s absolutely no way Michigan does something themselves. They need the excuse of “we had our hand forced by the Big Ten” to end this teams chances this year because they have a really good team.

From that link - (even if reports/rumors like this are not true, it's just fun to think of the anxiety for the tcun fans):

Sports Illustrated released a report Sunday that included an incredibly serious and damning allegation against Michigan ball boys.

The report states the following:

Multiple sources from one Big Ten school told SI that a coach at a different school called them before playing Michigan to warn them about Wolverines ball boys on their sideline listening to play calls and communicating information to the Michigan sideline—holding the football up in one hand to indicate an expected pass, and in the other hand to indicate a run, for instance. (Sources at the school that was warned said they experienced nothing in the game to implicate the Michigan ball boys.)

Here's an entertaining read from Bama country that includes this tidbit:

According to a growing mountain of absurd evidence, Michigan staffers allegedly hatched a plan back in 2020 to illegally steal the signals of opponents using the intel of a former Marine Corps captain who is so devoted to the team he loves that he co-wrote a 500-plus page Google doc he calls the “Michigan Manifesto.”

They call that “obsessed” in the Big Ten. Here in SEC country we just call that our friend Keith.
You know, Keith. Keith lives on the message boards, watches every game 10 times and then emails coaches with suggestions.

Well, the Michigan version of Keith is a guy named Connor Stalions and his emails to coaches were so compelling that the coaches actually started to listen. Michigan was desperate, in other words, and needed all the help it could get. The Wolverines then apparently started sending Stalions money and tickets to games. That wasn’t enough, though. Michigan needed Stalions around so badly that they hired him as an analyst in 2022.

Seems to me the most logical thing the B1G could do is suspend Harbaugh, the two DC's and the OC, pending the outcome of the investigation. Sure, the rest of the staff were very much in on it, but it's likely the top assistants that had the most knowledge. Stallions is already banned, so with the coordinators off the field that should mitigate some of the effects of past spying.

Haven't heard any chatter about this option.

I think the Big Ten is hoping PSU beats TTUN and if that doesn't happen, then I think you'll see them take some sort of action.

Yeah, that's like wishing the blinking check engine light will just fix itself.

If nothing else changes, Michigan will beat PSU and OSU by 14+ each. I hope I'm wrong, but even with a heads up you're putting both teams at a major disadvantage while Michigan changes nothing.

You don't have time to break down your entire routine in week 9 of the season and start prepping for a team that knows your system inside and out and maybe even has practice footage. Sure, you can huddle but that eliminates a major part of the modern game and doesn't help the defense. Meanwhile, at worst, Michigan doesn't have cheatsheets but can do everything normally.

Agreed.
Here's how you keep a cheating team out of the playoffs: (I'm going to make this more generic to make it appear I don't have a dog in the fight)
1. Beat them on the field.
2. Have the cheaters excuse themselves from any post-season.
3. Have the conference make them ineligible from post-season.
4. Have the NCAA make them ineligible from post-season.
5. Have the playoff committee not rank them high enough.

So, in a perfect world, we'd vote for #1. But we can't always rely on this one. Plus, their cheating may be deeper than we know, making this a very difficult thing to do.
#2 isn't going to happen. In their eyes, a vacated win is still better than a win that never happened.
#4 can't happen. If what people here are saying, the NCAA must give the cheaters 90 days to respond to a notice of allegations, which hasn't even been sent, yet. So #4 isn't going to save us this year.
#5 is possible, but I don't believe it will happen. We're at the mercy of the news outlets, and it's becoming painfully obvious that the news outlets aren't jumping in with any opinions on this. At least, not to the scale that they should.
#3 is possible, but I'm beginning to think that the conference will side with the team. Innocent until proven guilty, or something.

Hey - I just thought of something. Since the ref fund we use for Penn State games obviously isn't doing anything, can we put that toward a ref fund against M*ch*gan? I mean, get a ref who thinks it's bullshit that M*ch*gan is allowed to play, and he'd probably go for it. Maybe even a whole team of refs who think M*ch*gan is just lucky to be playing, and it might be fun to watch the stadium burn down (after our guys are safely on their way to Columbus, I mean).

That’s the way I see it too.

Maybe it’s closer because our defense is better but I don’t have much faith in our offense to click vs the best team they’ll face all year.

So more than likely the big ten will just have to vacate the last 3 big ten championships.

Hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see us pulling it out.
