That one isn't fair. Players didn't make the decision to organize a cheating scheme, the coaches did. Adults. Expecting players to blow the whistle on their coaches is not reasonable. They're kids. They don't want to lose their scholarship, etc..

Besides, letting them leave would reduce that team to scrubs and walk ons. Any player worth anything would be gone - let them go.
I took the football refereeing course at OSU - pass the final and you're certified by OHSAA - and earned some extra bucks doing jr/sr high school/intramurals/rec league games. 1. Most coaches do not fully know the rules. 2. Most players have little more knowledge of the rules than from what they've seen on TV. I would imagine that the Michigan players are no different. The logical assumption would be that they were able to read the other guy's mail was a bit of luck, or a coach/assistant coach who was really smart figured them out during the first half. They probably also assumed that the other side was trying to do the same thing. This falls squarely on the coach/coaches.

tell me that cunt doesn’t just throw up his hands and j”leaves on his terms.”
Inevitable that he rage resigns and screams victim on his way out. Right now, he's still clinging to the belief that they let him go to Indy amd the CFP and will do it in January. When they yank that dream from him, I think it'll happen within days.

Per the following article, "He has not been charged with a crime, nor has he been arrested.". I don't know how long it would take to gather enough evidence to arrest him. Does this suggest he is working with the FBI?

He may be cooperating. It appears that this is pretty deep and they want ALL the info.

I'm thinking this is what Weiss is up against:

"Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. In 1986, Congress passed the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), now codified under Title 18 U.S. Code § 1030. This law makes it a federal crime to gain unauthorized access to “protected” computers (otherwise known as “hacking”) with the intent to defraud or do damage."

I'm fairly certain the FBI (if this is the correct crime) will uncover all that were involved, up to and including Harbaugh if he was in on it.

I mean they aren’t really wrong though.

We got hit for some silly ass things in retrospect. Cars for players and what free tattoos?

So when a school hasn’t had any issues and all the sudden it’s the biggest corruption ring in sports history? It’s shocking. It really is.

I’ll be the first to admit I expected better from them for some reason.

I really didn’t. All that “success with honor” shit has always been bull shit. I’m glad they are being exposed as no better (or worse) than anyone else. Of course that doesn’t stop DFBIA from still pretending like scUM is the one beacon of integrity left in the college football world though.

It is hilarious that a school with one of the most infamous cheating scandals in college athletics—the Fab Five—still hold themselves up as a model of virtue and integrity.

And the cars thing was complete rubbish, too. One of the investigative reports was something along the lines of “nearly half of the cars sold to OSU players were sold for below the KBB price”…..which means that the rest of them were sold for at or more than the KBB price. Which proves…..absolutely nothing?

Interesting that when Weiss was initially fired the reason was for " “fraudulent activity” involving someone accessing university email accounts". Was this the real reason and they found out other things while investigating or did they know he was hacking other schools computers back in January? Did the administration know of the cheating and do nothing about it and let Jim coach? Was the email story to deflect from what was actually going on?

The playoff committee can do whatever they want. If they believe scUM compromises the competition, they can not put them in if they feel that’s how it should be.

Ok maybe I should rephrase. They CAN do what they want. Not much hope that they WILL as thier guidelines prohibit them from doing so and the executive director has already gone on record stating they won’t take this into consideration.

That said, I’m not naive enough to think if they are borderline 4/5 they won’t get left out. But if, God and Woody forbid, they win out, the committee is putting them in.
