My wishlist, firm but fair:

Waive any restrictions for current players to transfer out.

That one isn't fair. Players didn't make the decision to organize a cheating scheme, the coaches did. Adults. Expecting players to blow the whistle on their coaches is not reasonable. They're kids. They don't want to lose their scholarship, etc..

Besides, letting them leave would reduce that team to scrubs and walk ons. Any player worth anything would be gone - let them go.

I think we are saying the same thing. Let them go.

Then again, at one point they signed on the line which is dotted to be part of evil incarnate. Cheating scandal or no, they should be punished.

Fuck ‘em.

Nah, I'm too old to want to beat up kids. I want that program to lose, but it's not the kids' fault the adults they trusted lied and exploited them.

Fry the adults, and let the kids move on having learned TTUN is trash.

To me, a kid is an 8 year old on a merry go round.

My youngest is a college freshman. He isn’t a kid. Young adult, definitely not a kid.

Edit
(I don’t really want to punish the kids.)

I went to college with thousands of freshmen. We all had one thing in common - we thought we knew a lot more than we did. I look back at some decisions we made now and it's like why the fuck did we ever think that was a good idea? Fortunately, none of those decisions killed me.

My wife’s son from her previous marriage, my step son, is 23. He’s a fucking idiot.

I was also an idiot that somehow miraculously survived my own stupidity until I was about 28 or somewhere in that vicinity. Legal driving age, legal smoking age, legal drinking age don’t color my opinion of when you’re an adult. Biologically we’re all “adults” at around 14. Mentally we’re not fucking prepared in the slightest.

I’m at the age where I’ll probably give you latitude on your decision making until you’re at least 30. Life is fucking hard. We all made mistakes in our 20s.
