Losing Green is actually super bad, and it's not because he's that good. We've got Will Johnson on one side, and Mikey Sainristil at the nickle. Can Sainristil play outside corner? Cause if not, the options currently look like this: https://mgoblog.com/content/exit-gemon-green-nfl-draft

"OPTION 1: ELEVATE A CORNERBACK

The next guys on the depth chart last year were walk-on Keshaun Harris and Gemon's twin German, but neither's played any significant snaps. Jalen Perry, who was backup at nickel, has, but not since 2020 MSU. In younger options, Ja'Den McBurrows lost 2021 and 2022 to injury; the program has hinted he's another DJ Turner. RS freshmen Kody Jones and Myles Pollard, and true freshmen Jyaire Hill and Cam Calhoun will get their shots, though I need to warn you, not for the last time this offseason, that Michigan's complicated coverages were hard enough to pick up that it took most polished freshman of all time Will Johnson most of the season to get it down, and Hill played free safety in high school."

I'm pretty sure you guys remember the 5 part of "2 and 5" right? Yeah well during that period our problem was always that we had ONE corner who could cover your receivers; but the other guy was an auto coverage bust. It was different "other guys" almost every year (although Green was ONE OF THEM under Brown) but we couldn't matchup both on the outside.

I get that I live in a perpetual state of "the sky is falling" when it comes to this program (after the past two offseasons, can you blame me?) but I do believe @buckeyemania11 is right about this one; this is going to be a problem, and if we don't get it solved by Armageddon in November, it has a high likelihood of compromising our ability to beat OSU specifically - the best passing team in our conference, with something like 6 four and five star receivers on the roster.

Michigan's weak schedule may actually hurt them quite a bit when it comes to "figuring out" the secondary.

East Carolina (new QB next year game 1 @ Michigan, no dice)
UNLV
Bowling Green
Rutgers
@ Nebraska
@ Minnesota
Indiana
@ Michigan State
Purdue
@ Penn State
@ Maryland
Ohio State

Those last 3 games could be a slap in the face after playing nobody who's really capable of throwing the ball much at all for the first 9 (I guess you could MAYBE say Purdue is capable but meh)
