I don't think our secondary was the problem. Sure, they were the weak spot on that defense, but that game turned on two plays: the fourth down attempt by Ohio State that Cade Stover almost caught (I still think it should have been pass interference) and the long pass into the endzone by *ichigan (which I still think was uncatchable, and pass interference should not have been called). After that, it was all long runs by *ichigan that Ohio State was unable to stop.

I think Ohio State was the better team in every game they played all year, including the two losses. Step up and win those games.

And to get this back on topic, Fuck *ichigan!
That game turned on two plays....but not those 2. Not going for it on that fourth down, and Gee Scott headbutting someone for absolutely no gd reason.

Well we did go for it. The exact same play we called against Georgia but one thing that makes me wonder here. Is Day you have an all-time good offense why is it when we need 4th in 5 in the two biggest games of the year did you go to special teams trick play rather then just go for it on O?

I mean I get the element of surprised but you'd think you'd want to go with your best vs just surprise.

So, we just won the Big 10 twice, went to back to back CFP playoffs and apparently have our own NIL money cannon (see Corum returning.) Life seems pretty good right?

So explain this 2024 recruiting board to me then:

https://mgoblog.com/content/2024-recruiting-board

Now forgive me, but unless my eyes deceive me that looks an awful lot like Michigan isn't really in on ANY five stars, most of our fours are in competition with schools that typically win their recruiting battles, and the BEST case scenario here is like a #10 overall class? Given that we're a year out, and MSU in particular is sniping at some of the better guys on this list with bags of cash in hand, I don't think there's any reason to believe we're going to hit that best case scenario.

So a year out, I would pencil Michigan in for another 15th-20th ranked class.

After two big 10 championships, back to back CFP appearances and literally oodles of money.

When do I get to say "fire Harbaugh just for the recruiting?" Is now acceptable?

So, you can't stand interacting with your own fanbase, you think your coach who has just won 2 straight B1G titles and has 2 straight CFP appearances should be fired, your team has plenty of NIL money but recruiting still sucks, and you're over on an tOSU board? Seems to me someone is telling you that you should be an tOSU fan. Sounds like you would be much happier. Maybe its time to come over from the dark side. I bet the guys on here would even chip in and buy you your own tOSU t-shirt.

Dawg I do not watch college football to be happy. And I hate your team; like I hate your team so much - do you have any idea how much 2 and 17 hurt? Still hurts even though we're on a two game winning streak? Don't say "under Coop" because this was MUCH worse. I'm FROM Michigan; how do you folks feel about Wolverines fans from Dayton? Cause that's how I'd feel about an OSU fan from Detroit. Not happening.

I just hate my team too. PS: I'm also a Lions fan. This is just how I consume football.

I want five stars, championship trophies and long introspective articles about walk ons and our decades-long journey to back to back national championships. Is Michigan delivering those things? No.

Edit: and as for the "hanging out with your own fanbase" part, I'm just gonna say that the most popular Michigan forum has a blacklist of college football reporters who cover Michigan because they're not positive enough and report "rumors." It's a philosophical difference that makes posting on that forum, for me, untenable. If being MAD at Michigan is a bannable offense, then I can't post there. Why? Cause I am more or less always mad at Michigan. I'm a fan. We don't win enough. It's as simple as that.

Ohio State lost The Game. It is difficult to run or throw when your backside is clenched so tightly together. That is the big lesson for Day. Lighten up. Stop all this Heisman hype. Be overly humble about your team in the media. Talk about every opponent as if they were a world beater, like Woody did. Then, hang a number on the vulvarenes!

I hope he hears Kirby Smart’s pre-game fire-em-up speech from last night and sees how that approach worked.

how do you folks feel about Wolverines fans from Dayton?

It is always the Dayton (mostly Bellbrook) area or peeps from Hilliard or Zanesville in my experiences. They also root for pro teams not in Ohio when they have lived nowhere outside the Buckeye state.

To answer your question, fuck them.

The difference in how you set up a program between 'regular competition for B1G title / sometimes playoff participant' and 'consistent playoff participant / regular competition for National title' is very, very wide. I don't believe Michigan is aiming for the latter, to be honest.

In fact some of the frustration OSU fans are having is in chasing the latter (without an NC in 7 years) we are also now slipping on the former.

Eh Dayton is pretty much a Ohio State stronghold. It's Cincinnati and Toledo that tends to have the fuck Ohio state fans

Yeah well, that's the kind of personal dysfunction that drives me to post angry rants about college football on message forums. You're not wrong, there is no way in hell Michigan is doing enough to compete for National Titles, and it's probably going to make me stroke out eventually. My problem is my first Michigan football game was in 1988, and I was still young enough in 1997 to believe "okay, we're finally back; from here on out we're big time again."

As I'm sure you know, that's not how that story went at all.

Anyway this thread is too nice now; tell me to eat crap and that Biakabatuka is a war criminal before the mods swoop in. :)

But he still has to pay the full $79.99. no $49 special. It's just to atone for his fandom of TTUN.

This guy is too level headed to be a part of the DFBIA. He's clearly a deep operative here to steal our memes.

Don't say "under Coop" because this was MUCH worse.

I'd like to insert a new picture, but that same one works well here, too.

I'm FROM Michigan; how do you folks feel about Wolverines fans from Dayton? Cause that's how I'd feel about an OSU fan from Detroit. Not happening.

Honestly? I don't let it bother me, anymore. I had friends who... well they hung out in the same circles as me, but not really "friends".. but they were *ichigan fans in high school. I grew up on the north side of Columbus. So there were three reasons someone would be a *ichigan fan: #1 - he's a dick. #2 - his parents went to *ichigan. #3 - he's a dick. I think 1 or 2 of them were #2, but most were both #1 and #3. It was a little annoying in the 90's. My senior year Ohio State went up there and laid an egg in the shit house. Great. You know how you beat that? Go 17-2 (and we all know it should have been 18-2, if Jimbo hadn't thrown in the towel). So, now I say, "Go be a fan of whoever. It doesn't bother me." Of course, going 0-2 those years brings those guys back out. So maybe my tune will change soon.

I want five stars, championship trophies and long introspective articles about walk ons and our decades-long journey to back to back national championships. Is Michigan delivering those things? No.

Funny that the *ichigan fans I've talked to usually have had a few talking points: all-time wins, all-time wins over Ohio State, and Harvard of the West. I respect that you aren't playing those tired cards. Because even though the other fans play them all the time, you know that 17-2 hurt them just as much as it hurt you.

Edit: and as for the "hanging out with your own fanbase" part, I'm just gonna say that the most popular Michigan forum has a blacklist of college football reporters who cover Michigan because they're not positive enough and report "rumors." How many posters on BP would have been banned if we can't say something negative about Ohio State?
