I think the conference and NCAA are in a bind. Specifics to this case aside, if you're in the situation of basically ending a team's hopes to win a championship, you need to take it if that team took part in a major violation, and you need to avoid it if they didn't. I believe in due process, so the Big Ten and NCAA need to thoroughly investigate. But, knowing about the allegations as of 10/25, if either had a chance to stop M*ch*gan now, and didn't take it, and they win anything of note (conference championship or national championship), it's embarrassing for you to have to take it away. Neither entity is up against a deadline at this point, but it would be a disaster if either waits until November 27 to make a decision and a ruling.
Of course, if Ohio State takes care of business on November 25, this can just be a fun debate, instead of a potential disaster.
