I mean there's some solid Dantonio level work with those 3 stars. Lots of quality guys in there. But top 3?

Are they trying to put them above Georgia? Quay Walker, Fields, Tyson Campbell, James Cook?

Clemson has Trevor. Justyn Ross. Carman wasn't Paris but he was good. Xavier Thomas and KJ Henry shoudl go in the top 3 rounds (Xavier could be very high).

Alabama has surtain, waddle, barmore, latu. After Hutch/Surtain, you have to add up every single player on the Michigan list to get to Waddle's talent level. And Barmore was a force.

How do they get to 3?



Unless they're engaging in some serious nonsense, like giving Bama's #1 guy (Anoma) to Michigan because they're the only program that would allow him.

Jalin Marshall was a 5-star recruit and the 2nd-highest rated recruit in Ohio State's Class of 2013.

That being said, there's no way scUM's Class of 2018, originally ranked #22, could be re-ranked #3 regardless of how you twist the numbers.

I honestly forgot about that ranking. I don't think scout had him that high in the end, but maybe I'm just getting old.

he was also one of the best Ohio high school players of that generation and not fully anticipated as such, in my imo.

And the kid high jumped 6'5" with almost no coaching. Would have loved to have worked with him because he was fast, flexible, and strong.

Their players don't leave early for the NFL, so they are stat heavy. It's totally skewed.

contrast that with the sleepers like Noah brown or dawand Jones that leave one to two years early.

and you certainly don't get Jack Sawyer or a bosa or chase young to stick around for their fourth year of play. they're way too valuable to do that and we're far too dominant early on to require that.

about the only elite guy that got to return is Chris olave, who is not close to a bosa or young, and his return cost them Jameson Williams so while their recruiting rankings were great they didn't actually get an extra year out of anybody in that scenario.

I think Jameson's reluctance to go 3 Year Letterman and throw some devastating downfield blocks contributed to his leaving. Given what Hartline expects, I think Williams is still the #3 guy ev3n if Olave had left.

I'm too lazy to try to figure this out but I wonder exactly how many players on the current Michigan roster have ever actually set foot on the field at the Shoe for game action in the rivalry. Having not been here since 2018 it can't be that many. It will be interesting to see how they respond to the level of hate that most of them have probably never experienced before. I hope the crowd gives them hell!

Off the top of my head, Ronnie Bell is really the only current player I can think of for them who saw much game action in that 2018 game.
