Speaking of Ronnie Bell, it still cracks me up how much DFBIA hypes him.

34 games - 1,809 yards 6 TD in his career at scUM

That's 53 YPG and he rarely touches the end zone. He's only gone over 100 yards 3 times, and 2 of those times were against Indiana.

I guess he's a home run if you only consider he would be expected to do nothing considering his recruiting ranking out of HS. So any production from him is a plus.

But he wouldn't crack a lot of P5 3 deeps.

Actually, Bell has played 40 games at scUM, so he is averaging only 45.2 yards per game.

Here are some current and former Buckeye WRs - projected over 40 games - compared to Ronnie Bell (actual games played in parenthesis):

Player NameGMSRECSYARDSTDS
Ronnie Bell (40)4011818096
Jaxon Smith-Njigba (22)40198307518
Garrett Wilson (33)40173268228
Chris Olave (47)40150230730
Emeka Egbuka (16)40110211515
Marvin Harrison Jr (19)4088142125
Julian Fleming (19)407280413
Of course, the actual number for Egbuka and Harrison, and possibly JSN, will be higher because they saw little action during their freshmen seasons, and they will see more action as their careers progress. For example, in the 7 games that Harrison has started, he has 37 receptions for 607 yards and 12 TDs, which over 40 games projects to 211 receptions for 3469 yards and 69 TDs.

halfway through the season they remain extremely arrogant.

The “how can we be sure about Ohio States defense with the offenses they’ve played against” narrative from DFBIA remains hilarious. They’ve played absolutely zero capable offenses themselves. Including 3 absolute dumpsters OOC. Those 3 teams make Toledo look all time. Of course scUMs D is DEFINITELY LEGIT! Though.

“Ohio state is still soft” “no different from last year” all the same crap. Lol. A good amount of them still really think scUM is going to waltz into the shoe, easily run for 300+ yards while dominating time of possession for a easy W.

Anyone who thinks this year’s defense is remotely similar to last year’s barely has a surface-level grasp of the game of football.

they think their pass rush is BETTER THAN LAST YEAR. Because of the number of total sacks.

vast majority of their sacks came in those first couple of games and late in games against overmatched teams like Indiana and Maryland when their lines wore down.

they clearly don’t have a sack on demand type player like Hutchinson or Ojabo.

Color me not impressed on guys feasting on scrubs late in games when their line is gassed.
