It’s also funny that Ohio State instantly dispelled the “soft” “finesse team” bullshit from last season, which was their primary “advantage” that they were going to ride to victory after victory.

A new d coordinator, a new oline coach, and a massive chip on the team’s collective shoulder yielding vastly different results from last year might result in that fanbase reflecting on those changes working for Ohio State and their supposed advantages no longer being there.

But no, that would require a modicum of intelligence and self awareness, and they are DFBIA, so they’re going to go with we’re copying them, I guess?

Exactly. There was a obvious clear difference on defense. Yes ND might not be a juggernaut offense but they woulda been good enough to exploit more if the defense had been no different from last year.

Naturally DFBIA takes this in as nothing more than ND being overrated and Ohio state “declining”’ (lol)

But of course they are all right about this scUM team being EVEN BETTER THAN LAST YEAR! Because they battered some visibly completely awful team.

we’ve all known wolverweenies who say this, but the truth is they owned decades here and there in the 20th century, most of them, perhaps even all of them, in the first half of it. And even in the first half, Minnesota owned a decade or two.

There was never anything fair about this so-called QB competition, and I'd feel sorry for McNamara (who's clearly getting jobbed by Simple Jim) had he been a decent guy who kept his mouth shut. He, however, chose to run his mouth, talk smack and buy all-in to the smug self-reverential culture. So, fuck him.

OTOH, between the old-timey offense and this shitshow, I'm sure that 5* quarterbacks are taking notes.
