yes we played a top 5 team week 1 (they’ll likely end up at least a top 10/15 team) not a fucking 3-9 G5 team with all new coaches and players.

ND will definitely finish top 10, and might be in the hunt for a playoff bid. Of their remaining schedule, they get Clemson at home, and BYU and USC are really the only other two teams that can give them a fight. I'll say they drop one of the 3 and make a NY6 bowl.

The false confidence will get even higher next week for scUM. Hawaii is likely much worse than Colorado State. They lost 63-10 at home to Vanderbilt at home week 0 and last night lost 49-17 to Western Kentucky at home. Now they make a trip across the mainland to face scUM to prop up the greatest team ever in September narrative

So let me get this straight.

  • CJ Stroud is weak and hesitant
  • They can go 2-deep with their front 7 with no drop off in future NFL talent
  • We're trying to copy Simple Jim's old-timey offense
  • Notre Dame is overrated, and old Ohio State teams would have beat them by 50
  • Day sucks, and Simple Jim is Alonzo Stagg, Vince Lombardi and Bill Belicheck rolled into one
  • Simple Jim is playing five dimensional chess with his QB strategy
  • Because they're "michigan men" either of the mick quarterbacks will gladly accept the bench for the good of the "the team...the team...the team"

Am I missing anything?

Amusing that both TTUN and OSU fans have immediately forgotten the flaws Urban had after his 3rd year. I saw the same type of talk after games last year as if those were the golden years of offense and not year after year of trying to graft a modern passing game onto the old Meyer offense.

Yep. Ohio state is “clearly on the decline” because they “only” beat another top 5 team by 2 scores the first week of the season. They really believe this.

They really completely buy into their own delusions that Michigan is going to have no drop off now of course because they clobbered a clearly terrible completely overmatched G5 team.
