scUMs issues were still clear. If they weren’t breaking big runs the offense wasn’t doing much. Fortunately Ped State allowed their fair share of those. scUMs offense sputtering in the red zone has been a problem, when said big runs dont come they turn sloppy and mediocre.

stop the long runs and you beat scUM. Their offense is 100% reliant on them. They aren’t winning by methodically driving down the field or with the passing game

Just from a devil's advocate position: If Michigan can get two first downs on each possession they can keep the Buckeye offense off the field and keep the game close into the 4th quarter. If the Bucks can get up two TDs early, they might force Michigan to go away from the run game. Those of us of a certain age will watch Michigan and be reminded of the Tom Matte, Bob Ferguson Buckeyes of 60 - 61.

I don't think their offense is capable of going away from the run, and I don't think their staff is smart enough to if they need to.

It's clear that Simple Jim is going to try and run Corum down our throats all game. It might have worked last year, but I'm fully confident that Knowles' scheme and Eichenberg's play is tailor made to limit that. He'll get his yards, but he won't start running downhill and dominating. That means that it will be up to Spin Pass Jesus to put the team on his shoulders and win the game, and I'll take that scenario every time.

Corum is 9th in FBS in attempts per game, but he is 5th in the month of October at 27.33

we shall see if he is capable of carrying that load going forward. Most scat-backs are not
It also doesn’t really scream a balanced offense that can roll with the punches and do something else against a defense that’s not fucking terrible.

He’s already reached his total carries from last year. I was gonna make this point a couple days ago but forgot too. Thanks for bringing it up

Problem is most of the defenses they will face along the way are pretty much not capable of touching him.

He was 5-10 yards down field most of the time before Penn State even laid a finger on him.

It's not like he's having a ton of grind it out runs, most are just straight up uncontested.

He's talented, yes. But a LOT of his success is due to scUMs line constantly opening up holes you could run a semi through.

If our Dline can win the battle at the LOS it will be a long day for him, if they cannot itll be a long day for our defense.

Good thing scUMs defense isnt nearly as scary this year. I think we beat them in a shootout if it came down to that.
