This is going to be interesting. It’s likely a ploy to get his old contract back, but does the administration at tsun have the common sense to look at the big picture? A lot of things came together at one time for them to finally put together a good year. Even then, when they stepped out on the National stage they got run, showing how far they were from the NCs they were all predicting when Simple Jim “came home.” Now the core of that team has evaporated and they have a significant rebuilding job. Their recruiting the last several years has not been up to snuff with the big boys and he hasn’t got much of a bump from 2021. Do they really think a one off season like 2021 is gonna be the norm when his teams badly underachieved the previous 4-5? His record in big games is still abysmal, even with the tOSU monkey off his back for a year. A year ago, they were ready to run him out of town on a rail. So, do they give him a restructured, big contract again and end up with buyer’s remorse if (when) they regress back to the mean next year? Because I’d wager a good sum that their ceiling returns to 8-5 or 9-4 in 2022.

And here it is. This is prime DFBIA. :lol:

@ORD_Buckeye, hydrate before listening.

Actually, UCLA and Berkeley (maybe UVA and GaTech--I'd have to check) are more selective than tsun. I know that in the last MUP report, tsun had the 4th highest median SAT score of all public universities; Ohio State was 10th.

And has been pointed out by me numerous times, university admission doesn't mean jack shit to football admission. Not at TSUN, not at Ohio State, not at Notre Dame, not at Stanford.

You'd know about that way more than I do. I didn't even think about staying at a Holiday Inn last night. But I just laugh when I hear that Notre Dame or *ichigan or anyone else has a tough time recruiting because of their admission standards. I never ever ever believed that any of those schools wait to see if those players have a chance to get accepted to the school before determining if they get a scholarship offer to play football there.

Give him his contract back only to watch him faceplant a 6-6 season and get blown out by Sparty and Ohio State.
