Haha so many bad offenses in the big ten.

That's why we have half the top 10 defenses.

It would be foolish to expect this type of performance from Tuimoloau every week given that his stats have only been replicated by two other college football players in the last 15 years. But Saturday was a glimpse into all of the skills the defensive end possesses.

At the very least, Tuimoloau’s play accentuates what Ohio State’s defense can do. He can help unlock other things defensively and still have an impact even if it doesn’t result in four turnovers and two sacks every game.

“It allows you to disguise better,” Knowles said. “Because here's a guy who could rush and be a threat and everybody knows how good of a rusher he is, and now he's a guy who can drop into coverage and actually make plays. I think people drop D-linemen a lot but they don't make a lot of plays. You do it maybe just to cloud up a window or give the quarterback a different look. But we've got guys who can actually make plays, and he showed that.”

So what were some thoughts regarding our defensive output? I guess my call out is I’m not sure why seemed to struggle with preventing them from moving the chains when they were one-dimensional as hell. At one point (not sure what the concluding stat was) they were 9/18 on third down?

I don’t know; the pass rush seemed fine in the limited drop backs, but not making any contact until the runner is already a few yards past the LOS was a little frustrating against an opponent of this caliber.

At one point Northwestern was 6/8 on third down in the second half and converted 4 or 5 in a row. That's concerning when they were at times lining up with basically 8 offensive lineman and no quarterback on the field and still dictating play.

LJ has been rotating too much this year, and while I don't think it was as bad this week, I don't understand why JT is on the sidelines for at least one of the 4th down attempts.

That's where Mirco was so huge on Sat though. If he hadnt pinned them so deep that drive may have ended up in the EZ. Just another example of it being such a team game. Especially when trying to win a title(s)
