Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
I’d care if bowl games mattered anymore…but they don’t.
I disagree the bowl games (especially a major one like the Rose Bowl) still do matter to the coaches/players, students, alumni, fans, Ohio State's football history, and to the BIG.
Maybe in the life of 1 player or 2 looking to be a high NFL draft pick and not wanting to risk an injury, a bowl game may not matter to him (or his agent); however, in the overall scheme of things the Rose Bowl does matter.
Besides some of the obvious things like bragging rights, opportunity for some players being able to improve their NFL draft position, sending the Seniors out on a winning note, positive exposure for recruiting, and the additional money for the school and conference, etc. there is the opportunity for the additional practices to prepare the team for 2022 season.
Yeah, it doesn't matter nearly as much as a CFP game; however, winning the Rose Bowl is still a significant achievement for any college football team. If it doesn't matter why would you even watch the game? I'm betting that the game really does matter to you and you'll be watching it with the rest of us.
