The impression I have of Michigan’s defense is that it relies heavily on mixing up looks and blitz packages; their OLBs (DEs) are in all out pass rush mode on almost every snap.

This causes a lot of chaos for bad offenses, but is why they look so vulnerable when they are on their heels as MSU managed at times.

In summary, they rely on gimmicky bullshit to disguise their flaws, which is primarily a lack of talent, especially in the interior of their dline.

I’m fairly confident Day/Wilson can put something together to expose them yet again.

My God, they've got a type. The unwarranted arrogance just spews out of those guys.

That was after the pick that came when the ball bounced off a helmet and went ten yards up in the air right to the TTUN defender. It wasn’t like somebody made a great play.

You know, like the pick with a minute left that sealed the win for Sparty.

They've got a pose for every situation. Loved the Sparty student who had this printed out on a cloth poster. Camera spotted him several times during the game:

In other words, it's a Don Brown Defense® with less mustache.

This does not have to be fate. LSU just won a national championship with a coach they'd fire less than two years later because he is excessively horny. Whatever Ed Orgeron's assets are, they do not include "is organized" or "suitable for indoor use." But man am I inclined to jump off the moving car that is football season as soon as this stuff rears its head again. It doesn't feel like Michigan is building to anything except another Michigan Football Season where they win enough games to make you think they're going to win the important ones and then don't.
Really all you need to read from it.

This is comical
For one, that is an MSU defensive back bashing Johnson off his route with the ball in the air. That is a penalty. It is a very obvious penalty that very obviously should be thrown. I do not like that it was not thrown.
thrown on msu for contact from an illegal block downfield by Michigan? Neat logic.

You can argue that most refs will swallow their whistle, or that the wr was "running a route" into the defender and not using his hands, but begging for a penalty? Seriously?

If he's talking about the bump, that is clearly before the throw

Here's a little throwback warmup to Valenti after the MSU-scUM game last year, before this year's evisceration 8D
