DFBIA now claiming that the "depth chart is crowded" at DT is pretty funny.

Last season, in 15 games combined, Tommy Togiai and Haskell Garrett had 43 tackles, 8.5 TFLs, and 5.0 sacks, plus an interception.

EDIT: I forgot to add new transfer in Jordan Whittley, because Harvard of the West is too stupid to update their 2021 football roster. scUM's official website still has Willie Allen, Gaige Garcia, Ren Hefley, Phillip Paea, Ed Warinner, and Cornell Wheeler still listed as members of the team, even though they have all transferred out of the program (and at least three of them have already enrolled in new schools).

But one thing that I am really enjoying from the NIL stuff is that they somehow still think it's bad that the kids receive compensation.

People who pride themselves on being morally superior to everyone else can't seem to come to grips with a movement that, essentially, frees these young adults from indentured servitude as being the right thing to do. It's kind of like their stance on online classes. So out of touch with current reality as to be laughable, which, is pretty much on brand for them anyway so I guess just go back to the macro point of D= dumbest.
Do TTUN supporters have to sponsor their players individually, or can a rich dude give a bunch of them money by becoming the “Official NIL sponsor of kinesiology majors”, or the “Official NIL sponsor of General Studies football players”?

Because that would let them give Dough For Ballers In Abundance, also known as the DFBIA program.

This is the same fanbase that is perpetually stuck in the nineteen aughts...so stands to reason they're resistant to any forward progress.

Well the group averages almost a tackle a game, and if you take out the ones who haven't played, it goes up to almost 1 1/2 a game. So they have that going for them.

NIL might actually be the moment generations of OSU fans have been waiting for…

they won’t be able to keep up. They may actually have to quit the sport..

:scum:

I'm wondering if NIL will be the end of college sports. For decades, colleges have been convincing themselves that athletic scholarships give kids who can't afford room, board, and tuition a chance to get a college education. We know that "need" does not have to be a consideration unless by "need" you mean that there's a "need" for a QB. We also know that schools - including Michigan - make exceptions in their acceptance criteria so that key "needs" are met. We also know that communications, kinesiology, phys ed, general studies, and criminology programs can be adapted to meet the "needs" of certain special students. We know that many of the "students" either have no interest in academics or have limited academic ability. We also know that "runs a clean program" means didn't get caught.

Right now, NIL creates a small window of pay for play. The next step will be forcing the NCAA and the member schools to turn over a significant portion of the money from TV rights as well as ticket sales to players. The myth of "student-athlete" will be seen for what it is. I believe that schools such as Northwestern, Duke, Rice, and Stanford will be the first to stop prostituting themselves to keep such programs competitive. I honestly believe that within 10 years we will be seeing something where the schools spin-off their programs to minor league professional teams, or adopt a very restrained "must be a real student" system.

That's what college sports has been anyway. The only thing the NIL did was take off the veil of student athlete, hat anyone with any sense already knows is a joke. But college sports won't go anywhere, because they still are a minor leagues for the pros, and until they take away the age limit, it will continue to be that way. All NIL will mainly do, is enhance the profitability for women in general, and men in sports that usually earn next to no revenue(wrestling, baseball, swimming, tennis, golf, etc). I agree with your points, but I feel like schools were already paying players, let's be honest here. Just now its legalized and it will honestly set some kids up for a life after their collegiate careers. The backup OG for UK, the backup power forward for Mizzou can now make money off of their likeness, like they should've always been able to. In the past, imagine if a guy like Cardale Jones could trademark 12 Gauge for his own clothing line, if Boom Herron and Zoom Saine could start a company together, and the list could go on. NIL will be nothing really in a few years, because the people who will make the most money are the ones that honestly no one watches anyway(the attractive female athletes). I'm not trying to be a misogynistic a-hole, just being honest.
Btw, I know Master P's son has just signed the biggest NIL deal, but the amount of kids of star entertainers is not nearly that much. But I also see those kids earning top dollar as well(i.e. Shaq's sons, Lebron's sons, Deion's sons)
