As much as I love this year's offense... provided our freshman WRs grow I think next year's offense might be even better. Anytime you can enter a season with a Veteran QB that's big. But when you add in Trey Henderson with another year in the strength program geez it's going to be scary next year even though we lose 2, 5 and 88.
As much as I love Ruckert, Scott with another year is an intriguing prospect.

Scott is intriguing and I love the amount of PT he's got so far this year. Another year in the weight room and learning the position, he could be huge for us moving forward. I even think he might get some situational PT in meaningful situations this year.

So far this season, though – and especially in the last two games, in which Ohio State’s offense has not been stopped with C.J. Stroud on the field – the Buckeyes appear to have the best offense in the country and potentially one of the best ever. And they have no shortage of offensive star power.

Agree, Bukipower, tOSU will still have an impressive Oline, however, the D will have to 'retool'. Lose four of the top folk on the Dline, but even that seems surmountable with some of the freshman talent that dons the scarlet and gray. LB will be thin as well, losing their leadership, as well as the back four, who lose a couple of key seniors (although Josh Proctor may return?). Can't help but wonder if Coombs will be able to 'suck it up', and relegate himself to being a titular Co-DC, rather than the big dog, but Day has made it clear he wasn't cutting it. Dunno, maybe his pile of gold is big enough that he can go back to Colerain (?) and finish out his career, or head to Nippert (if Luke doesn't take a big job somewhere else). Of course, the elephant in the room is the QB room, and who stays and who goes. Can see #2 & #3 qbs leaving for greener pastures, but then, Ewers has a year of experience under his belt.

This mental masturbation should be saved for the off-season, and focus our attention on the here and now. Can see a bifurcation of the season, one (my pick), running the table, putting a Wisconsin-esque hurt on Iowa, and heading to the playoff. Two, losing another game to one of the other top 10 teams in the B10, and having a nice Rose Bowl. Hard to tell, as my crystal ball is a big foggy. Nevertheless, it's going to be a good season, and we all live or die with tOSU outcome. Go Bucks!

You think Harrison/Smith/JJP are going pro? I don't.

Not sure what you mean about the defense though. We will get everyone in the back 7 back (maybe Hickman goes pro?) and we will have even more of our depth back as well as getting Proctor back. We will lose both our DTs but otherwise we should return the other 9. Wouldn't be surprised if Banks comes back too.

Out of the 3 DE, Harrison is the only one that has serious chance at getting drafted and that is in the 3rd or 4th. Smith and JPP would be lucky to go in the 6th at best, with neither even playing half the games and only having 21 tackles combined. I'm pretty sure they're returning, and will be primarily be used as a rotation. It's safe to say that most of our defense is returning.

Sorry for continuing talk about the defense on the OFFENSE thread
