After 4 games:
Henderson 9.1 ypc, Williams 8.8 ypc and Teague 4.6 ypc. I think it's time to lean on the running game and beat teams into submission while giving the D time to rest. Any of the 3 will move the chains and put up points if we just use patience.

I was preaching the same a week ago. And I think that would benefit the offense best, especially since Stroud's shoulder isn't going to get any better during the season.
And there should be a better rotation at WR, because they're going to need to be healthy to not only run routes, but more importantly be able to effectively block.

Problem is you can't take the run first approach with a bad defense. You'll simply be behind too much and then when you do pass, it's obvious.

Balanced is best but it won't make a damn bit of difference until the defense starts keeping teams under 500 yards and 30 points.

If there was one difference between McCord and Miller as compared to CJ, both seemed more decisive with the football. McCord was certainly full of adrenaline on the first series, but afterwards he was much better. JSN bailed him out on his TD pass which was thrown inside and short, and should have been outside in my IMO. Also, while not as prolific, I wouldn't close the book on Miller just yet. He looked pretty crisp in his limited opportunities.

True, the best sidekick to a strong running offense, is a dominant defense. Something we certainly don't have

Thought this was pretty interesting. Only a brief look into the stats, so I might be missing a few plays, but OSU had 1 play over 70 yards from 2019-2020. Last year, there were 0 and ~4 plays over 50. In 2019, they had 1 play of 70+ yards (73) and 13 others over 50. I didn't look at 2018 in-depth, but there were at least 2 catches of over 70 yards.

Through only 4 games, the 2021 offense already has had 3 plays of 70+ yards (85, 71, 70) and 4 more of 50+ (61, 57, 56, 54). That's pretty nuts. Can't remember many seasons where they have had this type of big play ability. Probably 2005 with Ginn and Holmes as well as 2014 once Barrett and Zeke got going. Looking forward to seeing how many more the '21 squad adds to the total.

Worth highlighting from that 11w article above:

Ryan Day's squad ranks second only to Ole Miss in yards-per-game with an average of 559.3. Perhaps even more impressive is Ohio State's FBS-leading 8.6 yards-per-play, the highest-such mark since Day arrived in Columbus.
