Wasn't Brown a friend of Urbs? I seem to recall Urbs saying some very complimentary things about him as a coach, and last, could it be that if he'd had the talent at Michigan that Ohio State had his schemes might have worked - think Okuda, Fuller, Wade, Arnette, and Young playing Brown's defense instead of an over rated Metelus, Hill, Gray, and Paye.

Why do I bring this up? If Urbs thought highly of the guy - and given Indiana and Rutgers making games close in the second half - might it not be possible that Day might find a home for this guy in Columbus?

Just askin'

Don’t think there’s a snowball’s chance or room. The defensive side of the ball already has what it needs in terms of coaches... and perhaps... too much. Consider you have Coombs, Mattison, LJ and Washington... where would he fit? Frankly, if anything... there may be too many chefs and not enough cooks. Under Haf with things being simplified the kids were able to ball out and not have to overly think about what they are doing. The defense this year is very Coombsian... and while I love him being back, I do appreciate the defense that Haf put out on the field.

Even if you like his scheme, Donny boy can't recruit for shit so it's a moot point

I suspect Urban thought highly of Ol’ Brownie like he thought highly of scUM:

that program - very good program, by the way - you notice how we talk about them, right? Is that a good program up there? Great program. Good players up there? Great players. Great coaches? Great coaches.

I thought when he was first hired that he'd be the only assistant that I'd want on the OSU staff. But after these years, it shows that Brown was over his head at scUM and his ceiling was at Temple. No way would I want his lack of recruiting skills and out of touch schemes anywhere near our program. Brown should retire or go back to a G5

I hope all those cowards up north asked Santa for a pair of testicles this Christmas. Maybe they'll show up for their asskicking next year.
