You have to believe that the "black eye" would also play out in court over a prolonged period of time. With up to 38M being disputed over "cause" I'm sure Franklin would be more than willing to sue and force a settlement.

The biggest black eye - and the one for which I don't believe he's going anywhere - would be having the administration attempt to fabricate a case to fire a man less than a year after they saw fit to give him a huge extension and buyout. Seems like they'd be more receptive to living with the poor results on the field (and keeping any and all skeletons in the closet) than ever admitting they made a mistake.

As pnuts said earlier, this should probably be in the pedster thread....

True on all of that, but like the scUM fans clamoring for Hairball to be canned, who do you go to next? Even after all of those scandals, Franklin still brings in talent. We should probably continue this convo in the Pedsters thread

Might be correct to say "brought".

The current class has one player in the top 100, another in the top 200, two more in the top 300. There are very few prospects to improve on this. And I believe he is 1 for 10 on the top players in PA.

Oddly enough, while 2021 looks like a big disappointment for them, they’re off to a solid start in 2022 recruiting.

Not to argue, because I agree with all that you say, but in the years you listed, Ohio State won 8 games. They won in 1975, then Earle Bruce won 5. And Cooper won 2. I'll assume you didn't want to include Tressel's win in 2001.
But yeah - those are my childhood years, too. (I was born in 1976.) So 1975 didn't count, for me, and most of Bruce's years don't count, either. The end of Bruce's years (1986 was probably the first full game against M*ch*gan that I watched), and then all of Cooper's years - that's what should have been the golden years for my fandom. But 2-10-1 was really tough. And even though Tressel evened it out (Cooper + Tressel = 11-11-1), and Meyer flipped it right back around, I don't want Day to take a single second off for mercy. I'm still a little annoyed that Meyer didn't go for one more touchdown in 2018. He should have gotten one more touchdown and gone for two. I know it's Woody's saying, "Because I couldn't go for 3," but I think we'd all forgive him for it.

I'm going to quote your last sentence again, because it works perfectly:
Yeah, you're absolutely right, Woody won my first ever memory of The Game, then lost 3 straight. Bruce was the coach for my years at OSU and went 5-4-1, so that's 6 and then Cooper's whopping 2 wins makes it 8. 8-17-2 during my formative years and it seems worse. And, oh yes, NO MERCY.

And that talent alone could still keep them at #2 in the Big 10 East and top 2-3 in the Big 10. IU, NW, MSU, etc aren't bringing in hardly top 250 guys. And Franklin is still getting kids from Bishop Gorman, Dematha, Gonzaga Prep, Good Counsel and Cass Tech, so he still has inroads at talented schools. O'Brian wasn't getting that, and idk what coach is fighting to go to Ped St and could still secure talent from those schools

Not to brag but our record is 18-4 since I started watching :banger:

I said a few weeks ago ichigan would never play OSU this year and Jimbo would be out looking for every positive swab he could find. No way they play us and get embarrassed this year. And now it begins. There will not be a THE GAME this year unfortunately, I was looking forward to Day trying to hang 100 on them.

Oregeron wrote the book on how to avoid a beating (against Bama)

Jim is just taking early steps to following it.
