LOL. The Stockholm Syndrome thread doesn't disappoint if you want to see how broken they are.

The mouthbreathers are saying that Derek Mason may make a good DC since he worked with the QB whisperer at Stanford during the glory years.

Not sure how they continue to lower the stupid bar.

https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ot-derek-mason-out-vandy

Looking at tsun current '21 recruiting class I see as many defensive players ranked 500+ as inside the top 300 (3). Four guys are ranked 300-500.

It's going to take a hell of a lot more than a new DC.

Yeah, I don't really see that happening myself. The Pedsters keep bringing his name up too. Not gonna happen. From what I've read, Fick seems quite happy and comfortable with his current situation right now.
I don’t know, the money and the possibilities are much different between East Lansing and Ann Arbor. Fick sure isn’t going to take the job for less than Hairball makes.

I could see Fick in Rapey Valley. The money would be there and it's a P5 with resources that isn't Michigan. But they just paid Franklin and extended him, didn't they? That's a big hurdle to get past.

Unlike some coaches (like Lane Kiffin), both Fickell's family and his Catholic religion are important to him. Fickell (and his family) are perfectly happy in Cincinnati and he knows he has good job security there too. He's making $3M - $4M per year and realizes that another couple million wouldn't change his lifestyle. I'll go out on a limb here and say the only school that Fickell would definitely leave Cincinnati for is Notre Dame.

I just knwo he loved Cinci cause of his catholic roots. SO I was trying to think anywhere else Catholic my dad said maybe Chicago so northwestern but Fitzgerald is coach emeritus there till he doesn't want it anymore

I think Fick stays at Cincy for at least another season....maybe even 2 or 3. If 2 or 3 ends up being the case, I could totally see him in a play like Rhythmic Slappy Valley once Franklin gets bought out in 2024 or so.....

My God, this is almost too delicious. From the time I was a kid until they hired Tressel (1975-2001) OSU won something like 5-6 games vs dUMb. It was always something, something stupid. Then JT. Then Urban, now Day. It is the most giddy feeling I have ever had. Fuck those blue cocksuckers right in the pussy. I hope it continues for the rest of their and their miserable offsprings' lives.

FUCK M*CH*GAN

Franklin ain't going nowhere, unless he wants to. UnHappy Valley ain't the job it once was, not many coaches want to step into the middle of nowhere with that unreasonable fanbase. Outside of this year, Ped St was right with OSU in the Big 10 east. I dont honestly think IU is going to sustain their success yearly, Franklin is a better recruiter than Allen and gas better resources. Let's not act like Ped St had a perfect storm of injuries and opt outs that utterly destroyed their season.

Not to argue, because I agree with all that you say, but in the years you listed, Ohio State won 8 games. They won in 1975, then Earle Bruce won 5. And Cooper won 2. I'll assume you didn't want to include Tressel's win in 2001.
But yeah - those are my childhood years, too. (I was born in 1976.) So 1975 didn't count, for me, and most of Bruce's years don't count, either. The end of Bruce's years (1986 was probably the first full game against M*ch*gan that I watched), and then all of Cooper's years - that's what should have been the golden years for my fandom. But 2-10-1 was really tough. And even though Tressel evened it out (Cooper + Tressel = 11-11-1), and Meyer flipped it right back around, I don't want Day to take a single second off for mercy. I'm still a little annoyed that Meyer didn't go for one more touchdown in 2018. He should have gotten one more touchdown and gone for two. I know it's Woody's saying, "Because I couldn't go for 3," but I think we'd all forgive him for it.

I'm going to quote your last sentence again, because it works perfectly:

FUCK M*CH*GAN

Franklin's buyout is massive; I cant remember the specifics, but I seem to remember it looking something like $38mm declining by $6mm/yr over the next 6 seasons. Now, if he is fired for cause, that voids the buyout. So, if some of the hush-hush shit that you keep hearing about (sexual assaults, harassment, widespread drug use) is actually happening without Franklin stepping in to stop it, one could make the argument that he could be let go. Of course, the university and football program would have to willingly accept the black eye that would come from releasing the details of yet another scandal. The success with honor crowd won't be happy about that.

True on all of that, but like the scUM fans clamoring for Hairball to be canned, who do you go to next? Even after all of those scandals, Franklin still brings in talent. We should probably continue this convo in the Pedsters thread

Way too much blue in this pic, he’s obviously headed to AA.

You have to believe that the "black eye" would also play out in court over a prolonged period of time. With up to 38M being disputed over "cause" I'm sure Franklin would be more than willing to sue and force a settlement.
