scUM loyalists having a difficult time coming up with five. Some (supposedly) serious answers include Jeremy Gallon, Drew Dileo, Sam McGuffie, Daryl Stonum, Junior Hemingway, Mercury Hayes, John Kolesar, Greg McMurtry, Adrian Arrington....

We'd have the opposite problem at Ohio State - cutting the list down to five.

These five, off the top of my head, would definitely beat any five that TFUN could produce.

Cris Carter
Michael Thomas
Joey Galloway
Terry Glenn
David Boston

That doesn't include:

Michael Jenkins
Santonio Holmes
Ted GinnJr
KJ Hill
Parris Campbell
Devin Smith

And also leaves off guys like Anthony Gonzalez, Brian Robiske, Terry McLaurin....all of those guys shouldn't be on the Ohio State list, but are better or at least even with most of the scUM list...

Something tells me we'll look back at November 26, 2016 as a breaking point for that program.
Actually, I watched the 2004 game today. Tressel took a team that was not .500 in the Big Ten and curb-stomped Carr's highly favored #7 team. It was the first time the Buckeyes won The Game twice in a row at home in more than a decade and it truly signalled that the John Cooper years were over. I enjoyed re-watching every minute of that game.

I got nothing after Anthony Carter for them

Relive the classic.

Great. Take something fun and add Herbstreit and Fowler to it. I think we’re all in the bad place.

edit - AND Howard!?! Fucking hell.....they aren’t even pretending it’s the good place anymore.

That is grim. Is there a guy on that list of supposedly serious answers who could hold Dane Sanzenbacher's jock?

I haven't revisted that one in a while. I saw somewhere (here? 11W?) argue that Coop would have lost that game by 4 TDs and it was instrumental in making sure the momentum stayed with the good guys after 2003, and I agree. Maybe as or more important as 2001 in swinging the rivalry.

When the post-mortem is being written on the Wolverine program, 2001 and 2004 will be contributing factors as they lead to (at least) 20 years of bloodshed. However, I think 2016 will be seen as the fatal blow.

The most reasonable list I have seen is something like;

Carter
Desmond Howard
Braylon Edwards
David Terrell
Radio Maningham

No matter who they come up with there is a huge gap after Carter and Howard.

Then, no matter who they come up with, they can't find one of more recent vintage than Radio.

He left what, 16 years ago?
