2020 Team Discussion Thread

So, if those schools are saying Trump is responsible for no fall sports (when most of the country is playing high school football and many college are/will) that should be their cue to "prove him wrong", because blaming him for no fall sports implies they want to play fall sports...you don't "blame" someone for doing something with which you agree or supports your position.

I’m not sure I follow....the ad is Biden using Big 10 schools and talking about failed leadership making it so we cannot have fall sports. Michigan, Northwestern, and Wisconsin all contribute to it.

I can’t mind read Kevin Warren, or the Big 10 Presidents. All I can go by is how they’ve treated the players and parents, and now supporting Biden in political ads.

When other conferences are moving forward as we speak. And not being political at all.

It’s disappointing as a fan of a Big 10 team. Huge turnoff.

There are a large swath of people who believe everything virus-related is about the election. It’s insanity.

As someone recovering from the virus, it’s very real and should be taken very seriously.

I do not believe “everything” around it is political or election related.

However, when the Big 10 starts endorsing Biden commercials and discuss playing football, only after the election, it isn’t a shock some may view their decision-making to be political.

But maybe I’m out of my mind.....I’m going to go do some YouTube searches on the ACC and SEC to see if they’ve endorsed either Biden or Trump in political ads.

*I can’t find any......not even the Pac 12. Just seems Big 10 schools are doing it. Odd, right?

Those schools don’t contribute to that. What are you talking about?

Biden 100% cannot use Michigan Stadium or their imagery, Camp Randall, or Northwestern without their permission. Here’s the longer version as an FYI.

Clearly Ohio State said no....which is the right thing to do. Clearly Penn State said no thanks, which is the right thing to do.

Some schools allowed Biden to use them. That’s their decision. I think it’s wrong. Michigan looks really stupid for this....even moreso than they typically do.

Then don’t lend your university to Pro-Biden ads that attack Trump and blame him for no fall sports (like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Northwestern have done).

Especially when the commissioner has already publicly stated one of his goals is to “swing the election”.

Warren didn’t say anything of the sort. You’re putting words and thoughts on him that he’s never said.

The Big Ten announced a league-wide voter registration initiative on Monday, which will include non-partisan education and a deeper understanding of registration, voting and voter suppression. “From a social change standpoint, I think our biggest asset is our right to vote and to be an educated voter.”

“As a conference, we have a platform,” Warren said. “I think we have a responsibility.”

“If one person registers to vote who wasn’t planning on it, this is all worth it,” Warren said.

Clearly no interest in the election, whatsoever. If only he was this interested in playing football.

Can the Big Ten swing a presidential election? Kevin Warren wants to find out

What I meant was, if the B1G is claiming that is someone outside of their organization who is preventing them from playing (whether from lack of leadership or whatever), that would imply that they have really wanted to play all along, when we've all see with our own eyes that just ain't the case. Because if they really did want to play, they would've had a virus containment plan in place by now (hell, they had already made the season schedule), voted to play, and who knows, the opening kickoff might have been happening about 12 hours from now.

Go to the 0:20 mark...that is Beaver Stadium. Looks like a giant erector set, out in the middle of nowhere, in the light blue square is their list of bogus championship years, and in the yellow circle is what looks looks like their logo:

I'm not an intellectual property attorney, but it's not exactly that simple. Being that the Biden ads are clearly political ads, they are afforded the highest degree of protection as political speech. The images used could easily be construed as "fair use" and permission was neither sought, nor given.

This. Just for shits and grins, I googled Stock Video of Camp Randall Stadium... Shutterstock has a whole section of royalty free 4k video posted for fair use.
