2019 tOSU Offense (Official Thread)

Lots of options along the OL. But if Stud wants to put together a solid veteran line it could look like this:
LT - Munford
LG - Jackson
C - Meyer
RG -Bowen
RT - Alabi
Like stated, no way is NPF or Davis not starting. I like the Bowen story, but not sure if he's more talented than NPF. And his versatility will help him be the first one off the bench. Alabi will provide good leadership in the OL room

The biggest spot I care about on the Oline is that Josh Myers finally becomes the juggernaut he was projected to be in the middle. Getting those calls down and getting the unit to gel together is as important as the talent levels, if not moreso.

Call me a homer but even if Alibi nor Bowen start I think they get drafted. Alibi did a fine job filling in for Munford last year. He would start at alot of schools. Bowen is the same way. I think they are gonna rotate alot of guys once the games in hand.

Davis was better than Knox ever played in his first start in the B1GCG. His run blocking is much better. He needs to polish his pass blocking but he is a major upgrade over Knox.

I think the OL this year will be much better. Jonah Jackson was a huge get for us. There is more depth this season. Call me a homer but I think the OL is the position group everyone will be shocked by outside the Buckeye Family.

Bowen was on the verge of becoming a dominant OL when he got hurt...would not be surprised if he ends up being one of the best--if not the best--OL on the team.

That was PRE- injury. And before NPF got more experience under his belt. I could see NPF being the best OL on the team, due to athleticism, flexibility and fundamentally sound.

I see Bowen starting day one but not at the expense of NPF......Bowen’s healthy return actually bumps Davis at the RG spot because of Bowen’s flexibility to slide down.

I got

Munford
Jackson
Myers
Bowen
NPF

That leaves Alabi as a good OT sub and Davis as a good OG sub.

We got hurt a number of times last year with slow developing run plays where the RB was tackled in the backfield in short yardage situations. Coach Day mentioned the QB taking the snap directly from Center this year on some short yardage situations but I haven't seen or heard anything about that. Anyone in the know on this?

No idea. I feel like I hate the idea already though. Not sure if it's empty backfield inside the red zone hate yet....but it could be.
