2019 Spring Practices, Game, and Tidbits

Very excited to hear Myers and NPF are looking good, their development is going to be critical for our offense. Munford is a stud at LT and assuming Bowen is healthy, he is going to be great. And someone is going to step up at the other guard position (my guess is Jonah Jackson and/or Wyatt Davis). But the biggest question marks in my mind is center and RT, so it would be great to see Myers and NPF take those spots and excel.

Oh and obviously excited about Harrison, really looking forward to seeing him in the spring game. If he can be a factor this year, that would be a huge bonus because I know I'm not in the minority who was thinking Harrison would need a little time to develop before he hit the field.
I've noticed the attitude has changed with the coaching staff. Very upbeat and positive where as UFM really liked to poke and prod people.

Agreed though that I'm excited for this OL. We know Munford will be strong, know Jackson is a all big ten candidate, and know Bowen is a starting quality player. The fact that Myers and NPF are really standing out gives us a really good starting 5.

This is a small leap of faith but I think we will be better than lasts years team up front. Jackson/Bowen/Davis/Myers IMO gives us a more solid interior. Munford will be better than last year and Prince at RT really struggled at times for being a senior.

If the OL ends up being elite this team has it all.

Great to hear that Harrison is already catching peoples eye.
I won't lie I thought it'd take him some time to get going being how he needs to get stronger. I guess you can't push around what you can't catch.

If he's able to be in the rushman package from day 1 that's huge for us. The fact that he's a DT on the rushman package tells me he's stronger than I thought he was.

We could very well end up with a better OL this year if the pieces fall into place, I am with you. The talent in the top candidates is higher without a doubt. I love Knox, but he was not a top performer by any means. And Prince had some great moments, and some really bad ones. In my mind, Michael Jordan is the really hard one to replace, but Myers has all the talent and strength in the world to do it. I honestly think the composite could be better this year. NPF is a freak talent to man the RT and we have plenty of interior guys that can play. Bowen is an all Big-Ten type if healthy and we know Jonah Jackson is. Through in Wyatt Davis and Matthew Jones, Max Wray, etc. and I think we will put out a really solid 5. Plus you have Harry Miller who is very college-ready imo and Jacoby is already catching eyes. It will be fun to see shake out.

I am going to slightly disagree with one point you make. Saying Jordan will be really hard to replace is I think overestimating his impact. Pat and Billy were obviously hard to replace. Jordan was good but never great. I personally see several interior guys on the roster with the potential to exceed his impact. Especially with Jackson coming in.

Yup... he was a VERY good guard, but a serviceable center.

Granted, most of his efforts came against the #2 OL, but he shined none the less. The depth on our DL may just be the best of any team we have had. A plethora of riches for sure. Sack Harrison may end up being the crown jewel.
