2018 tOSU Offense Discussion

Watching the Tulane game it didn't seem like Webber was his normal self. Even before the injury. Methinks that JK gets 2/3rds of the carries against the Cult. He has shown before that he is capable of carrying the load so we should be fine if that is the case.

I heard on the broadcast that Weber was seen hobbling a bit in warm ups before the game even started. Sounds like he was potentially nursing an ankle or other lower extremity issue already.

Yep no need to play a 80% Mike when we have someone like Dobbins. Besides if we need to give Dobbins a break we can just go 5 wide

Hard to complain about the arsenal of wideouts.

Campbell
McLaurin
Mack
Hill
Victor

That’s a damn good top 5 and I feel any group of 3/4 out of that bunch can get it done against any secondary in the US with Haskins back there.

I had very low expectations for the receiver group formerly known as Zone 6. The very same kids are straight balling. Not just one of them, all of them. Hartfuckingline. Coach.
All the credit doesn’t just go to the coach, but also to having a superior QB who can get the ball to the WRs accurately and efficiently. I’ve stated before, the WRs all returned out of excitement for Haskins, they knew his talents and how the offense would change to their strengths based on his talent. A win-win

I didn’t say or mean that all of the credit should go to the coach. It’s obviously an ecosystem and Haskins is the one throwing them the ball. Every post doesn’t have to be an exhaustively itemized list of everyone who should be credited.

Chill out dude. My post seemed to come off as more confrontational than it was meant to be. I agree that a Hartline deserves a lot of praise, and my god does Zone 6 look better with him leading them.

SKULL SESSION: OHIO STATE'S PASSING IS MORE CONSERVATIVE, MICHAEL THOMAS' CATCH RATE, PARIS JOHNSON JR. BAKING

MORE CONSERVATIVE THAN EVER?
The Buckeye passing game has looked more lethal and prolific than it has since the 2014 national championship season – there's almost no arguing that.

But what if I told you, this is also the most conservative the passing game has been in five years?

Yes, it might not feel that way, but Ohio State took far more downfield shots with J.T. Barrett at the helm than it currently does with Dwayne Haskins, though I think you'd find a drastic difference in the percentage of times those passes were actually completed.

My hunch is this offense might take fewer downfield shots, but it's drastically more efficient on those downfield shots.

Also, I'm dying at the fact that every fourth pass Cardale Jones threw was 20+ yards downfield. What a ride that was.
