2018-2019 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

How about this strategy?

Illinois State up 61-59, Drake has the ball with 20 seconds left and calls a timeout. Immediately out of the timeout, the Redbirds foul Drake to give up a 1-and-1 opportunity. Ensures that worst case, you have the last shot.

Kid missed the front end anyway, so they rebounded and knocked down 2 FTs to extend lead.

And they just fouled for another 1-and-1 up 4. Drake only got 1 of 2.

Bad beat as a Drake +2.5 backer. They had the ball while covering with what usually is a last second-ish shot at the tie/win. Instead they lose a FT contest.

I was watching this one...
Ole Piss loses the game and Kermit Davis loses his shit.

They were up 3 on the Vols with 20 seconds left and blew it at home, capped off by a "T" on Davis and fans throwing crap on the floor.
Instead of this one...
oksu's lindy waters made 4 three-pointers in the final minute... including 3 in the final 20 seconds... including 1 at the buzzer... to force overtime versus ttu.

:pissed:

His shooting percentage this season from three (46%) is better than it is from two. He's also 92% from the FT line.

How is he averaging less than 12 ppg?

it's criminal that a guy who shoots 46% from three while averaging 33 minutes has attempted only 4.4 three-pointers per game. that alone tells me that boynton doesn't know what he's doing with his team.

this is one of my gripes about diebler and the 2010-11 season. i know we had plenty of offensive firepower other than jon, but he should have nonetheless averaged more than 6 three-pointers per game, especially since he averaged 36 minutes. worst of all was the 4/7 performance against kentucky. competent coaching would have had him at 10+ attempts. the staff should have had him running through double- and triple-screens all game long. you-know-who throwing up 16 bricks was an abomination.

i'm never going to get over that kentucky game.
