2018-2019 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

it's criminal that a guy who shoots 46% from three while averaging 33 minutes has attempted only 4.4 three-pointers per game. that alone tells me that boynton doesn't know what he's doing with his team.

this is one of my gripes about diebler and the 2010-11 season. i know we had plenty of offensive firepower other than jon, but he should have nonetheless averaged more than 6 three-pointers per game, especially since he averaged 36 minutes. worst of all was the 4/7 performance against kentucky. competent coaching would have had him at 10+ attempts. the staff should have had him running through double- and triple-screens all game long. you-know-who throwing up 16 bricks was an abomination.

i'm never going to get over that kentucky game.

I also will never get over that Kentucky / Ohio State game in 2011. It was the one and only time in my entire life that I was going to be ok with Kentucky losing and was actually rooting against Kentucky. I knew Kentucky was going to have a great team in 2012 and I knew that the 2011 Ohio State team had a much better shot than Kentucky that year to win the National Championship so I rooted for Ohio State to win. Either way I was going to be fine with it but felt this was the one time I could live with Kentucky losing. I was sick when they posted the brackets and I knew they both had to play each other. In the end it was my complete nightmare Kentucky wins but couldn't complete the deal to win the National Championship. I remember on selection Sunday already dreading knowing there was a good chance they would play each other. I remember watching the game and just watching it basically not doing anything just not knowing what to do.

Then in 2012 when both Kentucky and Ohio State made the final 4 I was rooting so hard for both to make the Championship game because at that point I would just root both teams on and whoever won the championship I would been fine with it would been a win win in that situation. Sadly Ohio State barely lost to Kansas. I even rewatched that Final 4 game last week when I was bored. I rewatched the 2nd half and forgot we had a big lead and let it slip away.

LSU bringing the "Flagrant 1" but actually Flagrant 2 fouls 2 weeks in a row. SEC refs giving them breaks on cheap shots. Last week Naz Reid body slammed a Vols player and wasnt ejected, this week Taylor with a flying elbow to the face running up court in transition.

Bucknell's pep band playing Lady Gaga's Poker Face during a replay review was at least original. Anything to avoid the obligatory Tell Me Something Good from the 70s.

Chris Clemons of the Fighting Camels is currently averaging 30 ppg and over his career is at #6 all-time in scoring in NCAA men's D1 basketball. If he gets another 114 points in the postseason, he would finish as the #2 scorer in NCAA history. Campbell tied for 1st in the Big South this season, so they will automatically be in the NIT if they do not make the NCAA tourney. The Fighting Camels hashtag is #rollhumps

Pete Gillen on CBSSN dropping the body shaming jokes tonight. Utah St fan, obese and shirtless dancing during Nevada FT, gets on camera. Gillen: "look at him, he owns a pizza place here in Logan." Carter Blackburn reply "looks like he spent a night in a cave in Utah up in the hills." Gillen: "he hasn't been to class in 2 months."
