I don't believe it either but it's not totally crazy. Thad mysteriously steps down in June after OKC got knocked out of the playoffs. Billy probably took the OKC job assuming Durant would stay and they would be constant title contenders but they are now a dying NBA team. Ohio State is almost as close to the Florida basketball job as you can get, second sport at a school that can still pay a lot of money and attract big players.

The only thing that could possibly redeem Crean would be if took the podium at his introductory press conference stood up, raised his arm out holding Harbaugh's severed head and threw it at the feet of President Drake and yelled, "I bring you the severed head of your enemy as tribute!"
Even then, I doubt I'd be down with the hire

Archie Miller was a ZERO possibility. Sean Miller was somewhere between slim and none. That Mack pulled his name out so quickly tends to support the theory (hope) that this is already a done deal, and Gene is just waiting for his moment to say, "EXCUSE ME WHILE I WHIP THIS OUT."
