2017 College Football Playoffs (and Other Bowl Games)

More proof that Ohio State 2015 got screwed, and the committee won't make that mistake again.

And I'm fine with it.

Agreed and that's what makes it sting the most, we all knew that 2015 was easily capable of a repeat, we all know they were likely the best team in CFB, but we didn't have the resume bc of one unfortunate close loss to a very good team.

That's what bother me most about this is not that this years team isn't in, I am more now about 2015 than ever.

Back to 8 conference games and you get week 12 open to schedule an fcs team.

This. It's not about dropping the tough OOC game, it's about dropping the 9th conference game and playing a patsy.

All other things being the same, if Ohio State played The Citadel in November instead of going on the road to Kinnick, they'd be the #3 seed.

Yeah but I’ve always maintained that you have a lot less to cry about the further down the rankings you go.

I agree, but it doesn't stop it from happening every year.

Honestly, I think we earned 5th. That Iowa romp was unforgivable for a playoff team, especially one with another loss on its docket.

No way man... tons of penalties, tons of turnovers, and as the year went JT got worse.

This team had such high if highs but when they weren't focused they could single handedly keep teams in games
Yet Bama and OSU have very similar average margins of victory despite OSU playing a harder schedule.

Again, against the only quality competition they've faced this year Alabama got fucking handled.

I would respect it a lot more if the committee would stop pretending they actually really look at anything but the eye test. It's very clear they only say who they think is top 4 based off looks, they do not seriously factor in resume at all.

The problem with our resume' is that 2 in the loss column. It's not just about wins.

No team has made the CFP with a loss of more than 14 points, much less two of them.

Hell, even I thought we were in! Not really close? WTF Holcutt!

Is that what he said? Not close? I turned that shit off as soon as I saw Bama. So basically they knew this before yesterday if it wasn't close.

Going to the playoffs was the big goal but in the end I'm not that surprised. Like many of us, my biggest issue is with fucking Bama. Sorry to say, USC would've been a better choice. It would've at least represented another conference and put in a new team. Who knows, maybe they would've actually surprised people... I mean probably not but...

Bama's about to go 0-2 against top ten teams. Georgia about go to 1-2. Neither of those teams can hang with Oklahoma or Clemson. Of course, neither would OSU or Wisconsin.
I'm still not sold on OUs defense but not sure Georgia has enough offense to beat them. I think with 30 days to prepare and the revenge factor OSU would have given both OU and Clemson a run for their money.

If there's a God both SEC teams get skullfucked.

This is what the 1st round of a real playoff would look like. I'll go with the committee's rankings for seeding, but I'd much rather have a more transparent BCS type formula.

Memphis @ Clemson
USC @ Oklahoma
Wisconsin @ Georgia
Ohio State @ Alabama
