Mike peireras logic on that ruling is baffling. It is short because he stuck the ball out and it was out of bounds before the marker. But the guy was still in bounds and fell forward for another yard plus.

I mean, I can run down the sideline with the ball extended out of bounds for 50 yards and when I finally get pushed out, it doesn't move back 50 yards.

Yeah if Perrara is right about the rule it's idiotic cause I can put the ball over the boundary and pull it back and still be inbounds. It should be where the ball is when a part hits out of bounds.
