2016-2017 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

I didn't last 20 minutes (real time) tonight. This team is late Randy Ayers-era bad. It's a dead horse at this point, but the Matta-era has run its course. This game might just be the death rattle.
Turned the game on as I was cooking/eating. Went to the gym with I don't even know how much time left- 10 minutes to go in the first half? Whenever I looked up and saw they were down 20.

Still repped the Buckeyes at the gym, though.

Realistically, who are we looking at? Remember, Tress was our 4th or 5th pick. Not everyone is going to jump at Ohio State, even though we have the bucks (haha) and facilities to be attractive. I honestly don't know that Miller or Chris Mack jump at us, maybe they do. Would Chris Holtmann leave Butler for Columbus? Steve Wojciechowski at Marquette or Bobby Hurley at Arizona State will be thrown out there. Can't be some vague "somebody", obviously.

Depends on how much they're willling to spend. We aren't a blue blood. If you want a big time coach, you're gonna have to pay them big to come here. Thad is a top-10 paid coach, so they'll spend. But the names you named are many of the ones I've thought of. I'd back the Brinks Truck up for Gregg Marshall if I had my druthers.

We're probably putting the cart in front of the horse here, though. It's easy to do all this speculating on a message board. Doesn't mean Matta's going anywhere just yet.

Even looking at the schedule optimistically I only project 6-12 in the B1G, which would make the Bucks 16-15 overall.

20 wins? Fuhgeddaboudit. :bonk:

They may not get 20, but they will definitely get more than 16.

I'm not sure they'll "definitely" get 16 at this point.

That game last night was over in 10 minutes, and Thad seemed very calm - especially compared to the intensity we're used to seeing from him. He even had a few smiles for Bucky after the clock ran out. I didn't sense any urgency from the players or their coach after getting their doors blown off on national TV. I would've been embarrassed and upset to have been a part of it.

If they don't come out with some fire the next game, after what happened last night, when will they? They're not good enough to win without out hustling, out working, and out coaching the other team.
