Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

If Vonn Bell chooses to attend Bama intead of tOSU, the Wicked Witch of the South gets another title, and perhaps UFM lands in the hospital again. I thank Withers for that the gift.

If the quarterback is rolling right, probably, statistically, it is the right thing to do to go cover the WR on the side the QB is rolling to.

I don't see the old "beating a dead horse" emoticon. Oh well. Here's my whack:
Bell could have covered his man, leaving the tight end wide open, or left his man open to cover the tight end. I'd imagine that the percentages were higher that the quarterback would pass to the tight end.
Either way, if the pass is on target, Alabama takes the lead, regardless of who Bell covers.

Yes, he left his coverage on White. The Bama QB gave the play away by locking in on the TE early. That helped Bell's decision.
Still it was an incredible play!
Kiffin is hounded for that play call, but he had OSU completely outflanked. Fortunately Blake Sims, not Marcus Mariota, was the one throwing the football.

What a game. So many all time great plays in one contest, the reverse pass and toe touch, the pick six (very rare vs AL), the pick, the wham for 85 with honorable mentions for the onside recovery, the runaway freight train, the destruction of Collins and the blooper reel of whiffs by a wayward Ohioan at MLB
